if we don't care about people dying, we can "end the charade"

yes...meaningless at this point...

we just know that lot of people dying all at once is doing some bad stuff to our medical care system, including killing doctors and nurses...

I didn't read the original link yet. But of course the death rate is over estimated.
It relies on confirmed cases and year to date the educated opinion is that America has far more unconfirmed (hell, untested) cases. Due to asymptomatic, or minor symptoms, or being told to stay home by the hospital until it gets bad.
It's unfortunate, but many people have already had this virus and don't know it. And I'm not a medical expert but I don't think we will know anything unless we come up with an antibody test.
We could be at 80% and have real herd immunity, yet if we don't know it we'll continue this charade to feel good about ourselves.

I heard there's already a vaccine for the COVID-19 virus, but they're holding it back until they are able to add the autism trigger.

If you'd bothered to read the link I posted you wouldn't be throwing out a number like "80%".
We have about 500,000 cases in the US (known)
I posted evidence that we may be seeing about 50% of cases being asymptomatic (there's a lot of wiggle room in the 50%, but that give you at least an order of magnitude).
Now assuming all 500,000 cases are symptomatic (they're not, but we'll let them go in the wash for now) then we're looking at maybe 1,000,000 total cases in the US. Which has a population of 350,000,000.

So our best estimate would be that we're at 0.3% have that "herd immunity".

It's dumb to say "we could be at 80% and have real herd immunity". Like... not even understanding the magnitude of difference dumb.

Let me break down the dumb.
for there to by 80% herd immunity at this point, we would have had to have 280,000,000 cases in the US. With 500,000 cases detected, then we would have a symptomatic rate of 0.1%. Literally, one person in every 1000 infected would show symptoms. That's.... practically undetectable. Those cruise ships, at 100% infection rate, would only have 3 people show symptoms. That's simply not reality.

WHAT!? The zombie apocalypse? I haven't bought my AR-15 yet!

That's not a much of a fun rifle. Get a Heckler & Koch MP5 for home defense and Zombie submission. They use 9x19 mm Parabellum ammo so you can have a Beretta 92FS as a backup and only carry one type of ammo.

Maybe the virus will cure autism. Can we get a double blind two factor authentication trial going?

The death rate is lower than we think but not as low as the folks that want to increase the denominator but hold the numerator constant think. Its still 10 or more times greater than any flu and the devastation to many of those that live is also greater.

I would add that I can choose to take the known risk when I drive.

Getting infected is not a choice.

People also die from choking on a piece of steak.

from getting caught in rip tides.

from overdosing on drugs.

Do I need to list every way to die that the victim knew but chose to risk?
Not comparable to being infected by carelessness on my part or on the part of the carrier who didn't respect others.

Just because there are death stats for each category does not make them eligible to prove anything in the same sentence.

You sticking with this?

It's not the virus that has to be beneficial. that's like saying the automobile deaths are beneficial.

Here's an article that offers some numbers regarding the deaths that will result from unemployment and quarantine.

So it seems the obvious needs to be stated, a death caused by COVID19 is a death from infection.

even the exalted CEO's of giant corporate America have said that before re-opening we must do extensive testing...and that the re-opening must be planned and in phases and done safely

https://www.chicagobusiness.com/government/top-ceos-advising-trump-expand-testing-reopening-economy

I am also in favor of a measured re-opening that involves testing and contact tracking so we can identify and isolate those who are infected as well as determine those who have been infected and have antibodies...

people want to go back to work, but they also want some assurances that they are not endangering themselves and their loved ones if they do so...

there has to be a plan, which is based on provable relevant criteria...

having realized what can not/will not get done and therefore what they must do, governors are forming their own geographic regions going forward.
