A lawyer ordered $5000 worth of super premium cigars from a local retailer. When they came in he took them home and started enjoy his purchase smoking several each day. As his supply started to run low he realized that he couldn’t afford to replace them so he sued his home owner’s policy. He cited that his investment had burned over time due to fire and he was entitled to just compensation. The insurance company strongly protested the suit but the judge ruled in favor of the attorney and he was quite pleased with the outcome. A few months went by and the lawyer was served a suit from the insurance company, who wanted to recoup their money. The lawyer thought there was no way of losing this case either with his earlier victory. This time the judge ruled in favor of the insurance company who sued him for arson.
