Was wondering if anyone has smoked the Acid Kindred Spirit or Tri-Boroughs. Won a fiver of both today and wanted to know peoples thoughts on them were.

Can’t help with this one but I would say 98.2% of forum members either never smoked or if they did, don’t smoke Acids anymore. I know there were some newer guys that did but don’t think they’re still around.

Tried a few of the acids, only ones I enjoyed was kuba kuba and deep dish. And I haven't had an acid in a long time

Long long ago, on a palate far away, I seem to recall thinking the Tri-Boroughs were decently smokeable. Though I've still got a couple left from the original 5er so that view didn't last long. All the Acids just started tasting like potpourri to me

Even John said he only made them to pay the bills.

I like to generally have an idea BEFORE I buy something unless it’s a brand I like and a different blend from them I haven’t tried yet. So given that if you like Acids (not judging your life choices) you’ll probably like them?

My thoughts on them?

I generally try to do the same but they were on sale about 1/3 normal price. I’d never seen them before and figured I’d see if anyone else had.
I noticed Acids aren’t very popular with most smokers, never quite understood the hatred though. Just because I’m new to the cigar world or have an underdeveloped pallet 🤷🏻‍♂️. I’d much rather have a cigar on the sweeter side with an interesting flavor than grandads old ass cigar that just tastes like a dried out cigarette IMO. Probably the same reason I think scotch taste like ****.

There’s a reason almost all cigar smokers eventually move on from infused cigars.
You will discover the same............eventually.

ACIDs are like having potpourri rammed up into your sinuses. Freakin' awful.

ACID flavor profiles vary a bit, but most are similar to:

Hippie armpit
Hippie buttcrack
Hippie feet

Basically, they all taste like patchouli. That's all you need to know.

So I will take a stab at a real answer to this. I think they fact that infused cigars are thought of as not 'puro' will always give them a bad reputation to serious cigar people; hence the lack of serious response to your post.

When first getting into cigars, I tried DE infused cigars . . . but the price always deterred me from getting more (thank god). on CB they go for about $7 each, and for that money on CB you can easily get any cigar you want, so why waste time with a flavored one. Now with a more developed cigar palate, the thought of an infused cigar doesn't interest me irrespective of the price.

To answer your question, I have tried many of he DE infused / Acid cigars (admittedly a decade ago) . . . and unless they say coffee, they all have the same flowery taste / smell to me. As for the ones that say 'coffee', i prefer to just drink a glass of coffee with a medium body cigar.

For me, the most annoying thing about infused cigars is, where do you keep them? if you put them in your humidor, it pollutes other cigars. My solution was to put them in a tupperware container, and 95% of the ones I bought 15 years ago are still in that same tupperware container.

My infused cigars (all DE / Acid) are now kept for when non-cigar smokers want to have a smoke with me out on the porch. Enjoy them while you can tolerate them, to me they are like blush wine . . . amazing when you first try them, but when you move on the bigger and better things, going back is just awful.

One bit of advice, buy in small quantities because sooner or later your palate will not like infused cigars, and you will then be left giving them away.
