Came home with the kamado. Cooked off the manufacturing oils, then cooked 3 pizzas. First one came out black. Second one the crust got pretty toasted but was edible. Third one came out great. Blackened on the grill grate marks, but cooked perfectly

I can tell there's gonna be a learning curve on this thing. I like it though, I think. Definitely more efficient on charcoal. I put in a normal load id use in my grill and it was enough to get it to 500, and hold for 30 minutes, and then hold 400 for another hour while I grilled the pizzas. Another 40 minutes since dinner and its still just under 400.

The WSM is probably the best smoker out there, if you ask me. I've had the 22" and the 18". Much better and way more consistent than the pellet smokers. My pellet smoker didn't give off a lot of smoke.

I'll be going back to a 22" WSM when my 18" dies. Or maybe a PBC.

I do like smoking on the WSM.

But in 10-20 degree weather, it struggles to even hit 200 and will eat 20+ lbs of charcoal in 10 hours.

Sunny hot days, its great.

Dunno if I'm gonna smoke on the new grill, but on cold days if I want real smoke over the electric I think it could work better.

Oh make no mistake I’d take a big green egg over a wsm if coin was no concern. Dollar for dollar wsm rules in my opinion but BGE kicks butt. It’s more versatile and does hold temps better.

It will grill and smoke. Both better than the wsm. But if I had a wsm or two and wanted a grill I’d not absorb that cost and just get a grill.

Now if I was to get rid of my wsms and my performer I’d go bge in a flash.

Personal preference and coin.

^In that case, gimme the Kamado Joe over the BGE.

Just watched this. Basically the same. There are several different brands, some better than others. Kamado Joe looks like a nice one. They are all so effing expensive and heavy. That's why I say WSM rules in terms of cost. I'd love a BGE though.

I have a char griller and I love it had it for long time. I bought a Traeger pro 575 cause I wanted to try something new . Well I am not that impressed with smoke output cause there is none. I need to run an ad in the local paper and sell it now.

Morning guys. Nice day here. I'm up to swimming 1/2 hour at a time. Changed the rest of my routine also. Stopped the weights for a bit, doing push ups, sit ups, squats, and so on for an hour. Rolled the running back to 6 miles. Working on lowering my time per mile. Did cool sculpting yesterday to kill fat cells, stomach, love handles, neck, and chin. Finally starting to look cut, no six pack abs yet. Next day it is warm enough to enjoy we are going out on lake Michigan to chill. Down to 165 LB. Now it's time to add muscle and get back to a healthy weight. Lost 102 LB in total with nothing other than medically monitored dieting, and trainer monitored excrsizing. If I can do this every one of you can. 15 months.

Sounds like work. Haven't they made a pill for this yet?
