ya, it's an muv exclusive... they don't say what the other parent is besides DB but reddit users say the durban taste really comes through...

I was just telling someone the other day how much I love og durban, but they don't have it out here anywhere... the yields are weak so no one grows it...

if you ever stumble across Sherbet that's a DB granddaughter that really carries that original durban flavor...

I have little idea what you are talking about, but I have a Range Master triple-burner from Aldi that came in the box for $95! So. I am completely at the other end of the grill spectrum from you guys.

My son wants to start screwing around with a small, starter smoker. Like the ones at Walmart. What cheapie should I get him?

I started on electric. Glad I did, but I don't prefer it now. Was easy to make smoked meats, just set temps and time and come back later. Charcoal/ wood is a little more a learning process and more involved.

Look on Craigslist for a used Weber Smokey Mountain smoker.

That is the only home sized one I'd recommend and not terribly expensive. Not cheap tho.

Agreed. I'd get the 22" WSM. They're $400 at Home Depot or Lowe's and if you have any military or LE friends have them go along for the 10% discount.

There is a website that caters to the WSM. It's www.tvwbb.com. Recipes, cooking directions, tutorials, etc. You'll be schooled up pretty quick.

G'Day ALL!

Spey, that's some great work and commitment.

At my height, I would feel better at around 185-190, but my regular Doc wants me at around 200-205?!?! I felt my best at 190, but I was still fully functional and working daily. After a wreck in '15, along with the Deg. Disc Disease, Spinal Stenosis and other health problems, I have some difficulty with most workout routines. Wish I could afford to start a medically driven diet and the cool sculpting. I just need to get rid of around 20-30 pounds of belly fat!! I'm currently at around 220-223 and only have a couple of actual meals/day with a bag of popcorn during the day to keep me from snacking. Cut out Dr. Pepper around a month ago and that was my hardest thing to stop!! I teasingly would say it was my "drug of choice", hehe. I deal with 24/7 pain and been that way for over 12 years. Prior to the wreck, I could easily do push ups and other exercises. Afterwards, I blew up to 260!!! I could barely move and much of that weight was fluid and belly fat. That happened over a two month period and a few doses of Prednisone, which I HATE.

As for smoking meat, I have a lifelong friend that owns a few of those trailer size smokers, one has an electric rotating rack system and I just buy the meat and get him to smoke/cook the meat. Saves the hassle for me, HEHE! He uses charcoal and would also compete around some of the local contests. As for BBQ, I live in the best area of the Country!! When I want ribs, I just go to Memphis to Charlie Vergos' Rendezvous and although some will disagree, I can get the best ribs in the Country. They even send them all over. 1-800-hogsfly

Retaining wall built. Had bids ranging from 20,000 to 2,500. Was nervous taking the 2,500 bid. Looks like they did a nice job. Nothing special. They were fast. I think they picked up a few extra workers under the bridge by the Home Depot.

Better than what we get for temp labor I'm sure. All we got is meth monsters n crackheads for fill in labor. They work hard but they don't give a chit and will grab whatever they see lying around.

Last time a contractor brought a crew of them over for siding, they wanted electric but I have no exterior outlets. So I wheeled out my generator. Which they packed in their van at the end of the day. They also destroyed every single window screen on the house and broke two windows. All were brand new. They did replace em.

Had a plumber out and he brought two helpers, they had to be in the house to pipe some stuff in the crawlspace where I didn't wanna crawl. End of the day they wanted paid, I had to take three Milwaukee boxes outta their truck with my name clearly burned into the plastic.

Roofers had a good crew though. I was happy with them.

Peppers n onions are done. Sausages still gotta thaw a while longer. They been floating in water but once thawed shouldn't take long to cook

Nope. Sausages are ready, they were just stuck together. Fully thawed.

On the grill they go.

This crew did take a 10 year old sun rotted hose. I honestly think they thought it was theirs.

I think they did good work. Didn’t hover but did see them building in drainage etc. it’s not the most beautiful wall ever but I just wanted to stop the erosion. 14’ X 30” height wall, 3 yards topsoil, 12” X 12’ rock bed and all the draining stuff - $2,500

Oops. They did not take the hose. They actually put it away. I never do that lol.

Good deal man. When I bought the house I re graded the yard. Was evident the land above had migrated into the house. Thought about a retention wall but figured I'd not be here more than 10 years. A decade later, its looking like a retention wall wouldn't be a bad idea. Already grew about 4" from the grade I set on the high side of the house

MACS, I am rail thin right now. I wanted to reach a very low body fat percentage. Now the goal is to build lean muscle while killing off the empty fat cells. I think a good weight will be somewhere between 185 and 205. Thanks all. It feels good to have accomplished this. Numi, my circumstances were a little different, but I went from 205 to 267 in 4 months due to health issues. I stayed there about 3 years. I finally said F it, I'm gonna get healthy and went for it in a big way. If some dumb ass like me can do this, anyone can.
