Much like veal, a baby’s blood is unparalleled in its consistency and flavor.

Never read it but interestingly there's a copy at the local cigar lounge. Been meaning to check it out.
I know him and Elijah got caught up alive into heaven and will be back one day soon to be witnesses to Christ in Jerusalem then martyred. Then men will exchange cigars in celebration of their deaths. 3 days later their dead bodies lying in the street will be resurrected. Revelations 11:3- 12

DG, my intent is not to mock your beliefs as some do. I am pro choice and pro life. I do not see this as being impossible. I believe a woman has an absolute right to self determination of her own body untill such time the fetus becomes a human being. Then she has no right to terminate that human being. When a fetus becomes a human being is not as simple as the moment of conception or the first breath. That being said my personal belief is always choose life. I don't need a book to tell me how to belive, think, and act. If someone tells me the bible is absolute, and if I don't follow it I am going to hell, I tell them to shove their book up their azz. Same thing for any religious zealot telling me their book or he'll. Guess what. None of the above means I am a non believer or immoral. It just means my path to enlightenment is different than yours. Interestingly enough I think you are stating your beliefs, not telling me what I need to believe. I think you have strong beliefs and mortality. I do think you could work a little on having better control of your initial anger, but that's just my opinion.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank God for making me an agnostic.

Of course I’m missing out on the whole tell people how to live thing, condemning the heathens, and enjoying self righteous contempt for others.

But life is a mixed bag, you know....

Well said and agreed, thanks Spey. I know it's hard in a text form to portray tone but when I get terse it's in a lighthearted jest
I know I'm mostly being trolled & I'm fine with it.
I have lots of spirituality & politically like minded friends as well as plenty of opposite minded friends. Yet we still somehow enjoy each other's company & are able to enjoy brotherly love. I know many of my un-churched friends would lay down their life for me as quickly as I would for them. Its definitely harder to share opinions without offending in text so I appreciate your gracious advice and respect your positions. As I know there's no such thing as an unbeliever. Just truth deniers. Now no more politics for me for awhile! I'll prolly never be able to resist the "faith" trolling but please if you must - start a separate thread for the purpose. Thanks again

Religion is just a scare tactic to keep the masses under control, and the root of all evil.

Interesting Tony, the conversation between DG and I had been about belief, not religion. In truth I think he seldom uses the word religion. I almost always use it in a negative context. What religion did Pot Pol follow, or Mao, or Stalin, or Hitler, add in whoever else you want. You think evil has set boundaries? I find that very simplistic. Look at your words meaning. You have basically said that anyone who follows a religion is exposing themselves to all evil.

Jesus was hated by the religious.(you can tell a lot about someone by who hates them) His harshest words were toward the religious. It was a religious zealot who betrayed him and it was the religious leaders who forced the secular leaders to kill him. But of course it was our sin he was willingly laying his perfect life down for. So as to reconcile us to our heavenly Father. So technically it was me that killed Him.
Was that too religious for you?
You'll be alright.
"In these times" we need good news & good will (not dead religion). So let's put aside divisiveness & small minded intolerance. We can share our beliefs, political views and cigar tastes in love & a little thick skinned, ball breaking never hurt anyone. Especially if it gets a laugh. Imo

First of all, the opening sentence is pure gold. thank you for that one.

The second sentence, however, is poorly veiled hypocrisy. Agnostics don't hold self righteous contempt towards religious people? LOL! I hope you were purposely being ironic.

Not to put too fine a point on it, but feeling contempt for someone because they try to force their religious opinions and rules on others is not a contempt founded in self righteousness. It is contempt of their self righteousness.

A agnostic believes that there are some things that are unknowable. And I will admit some contempt for those who purport to know the mind of God so well that they feel they can inflict their opinions on others.
