are the police being treated differently..??
what is the number of people unjustly killed by police..?? if the police are forced to shoot somebody in self defense of defense of someone else then those numbers aren't the oness I'm talking about... 😟

equating life as a police officer to life as a black citizen/minority citizen is not a valid comparison...

one can CHOOSE to be a cop...whereas one has NO CHOICE about one's race...both groups suffer at the hands of society at large

big difference: one can always quit being a cop

average number of cops killed feloniously in the US is 85/year, so that number is a big drop...about half of the typical annual total...

compared to nearly 1,000 people killed by cops, it is less than a tenth...

neither number is a positive reflection for the US

Police are ALWAYS given the benefit of the doubt so a TINY percentage of incidents get prosecuted. Far far far fewer than normal citizens......

This is the way it’s been.

This is a GREAT PLACE to start change IMO. If a citizen can’t do it than a civil servant shouldn’t.

Also if a civilian can’t own it, a civil servant shouldn’t.

I'd have to agree with what Z said. When it comes to prosecuting crimes the police generally get the benefit of the doubt even if they are not on trial and are just being called to testify for the case. Their word is held in higher regard and their police reports are generally taken as gospel not just his side of the story. The written report is in the officers words from his perspective with his biases (yes it is... He's not just stating facts of exactly how it went down, he's writing the story as he experienced it through his eyes and filtered though his brain)

A guy get's cuffed and stuffed. The officer crimps the cuffs a few clicks too tight and was a little aggessive putting him in the car because he's pissed off. The perp flinches and flails because it hurts. In doing so he either intentionally or reflexively elbows the cop... charges of resisting arrest, assault and battery and any other thing the cop can think of is written in the report. They are told and trained to put down any and all charges they think to make it stick increasing the odds that some will stick while others get tossed out.
