If your buying at a brick and mortar place, a lot of times I have had issues with over humidification. They take cigars that seem to be intentionally over humidified to survive shipment and pit them right on the shelf without any rest. I generally always buy a single when I go to a lounge, but then smoke what I brought instead and take the single home to rest. If the box has been on the shelf for a good while usually not an issue, but you don't usually know unless you ate a regular.

Sigh, are a regular... I do not suggest you resort to cannibalism.
