the 20,000 peaceful protesters didn't command as much national network airtime as the burning and looting that ensued by a few hundred criminals.

Thinking I will cancel my birthday party this Summer, even though Governor Baker hasn't mentioned it specifically.
But jam packed bars is another thing they may have in common, MA hasn't opened that up yet.

I didn't think I'd have to explain this, but apparently I do:
There is a difference between not wanting my government to arbitrarily shut down our economy, and wanting there to be no government influence at all.

Everything is black or white with you.

Welcome folks... it's a new week and a brand new race! This weekend saw Florida continuing to dominate the pandemic 200,000 while Texas and California traded back and forth for the 2nd and 3rd places. Arizona stayed comfortably in #4, while everyone's least favorite state, Georgia, remained at #5.

With the race starting out today, Florida is ALREADY in the lead. I tell you, there's almost nothing disease related that this state cannot do. It leads the nation in elderly gonorrhea, and now it's showing us how to lead the nation in COVID. They are already announcing 5,266, and we know they have the stamina to take that higher before the day is out.

In second place is Alabama with 1,734.... now given this is alabama, it's also possible they just had 2 cases and had trouble adding them together.... so we're going to have to wait until the judges do the math for them before we even accept that number. But it's a strong start from that tiny, uneducated state... 4x higher than their totals yesterday....

In 3rd place, a common contender, North Carolina with 1,287. NC is always finishing around the #6 slot, trying to take #5 from Georgia... and to be honest, we all want to see GA fail.

In 4th is Nevada, and this is an early start for a state in Pacific time zone... they are showing us they mean business today.

And 5th is Mississippi with 675, which is double their count yesterday... Either they are coming in strong today, or they accidentally submitted their statewide tooth count.

And following noon PST we've seen some changes to the lineup.

FL remains in #1, but has not tried to increase their lead at all. It's unknown if they feel like they can keep their #1 spot with a mere 5,000 cases, or if they are just too worn out after days of 8-9k cases.

In an amazing turn, GA, everyone's most hated state, has moved into the #2 spot with 2,207 cases.

Alabama has not had their case numbers revoked yet, so they are able to hold #3, but judges are investigating.

With GA coming into #2, NC has been bumped to #4

And Louisiana has come in with a strong debut today, knocking Nevada and Mississippi out of the #5 spot. You go New Orleans!

Neither TX nor CA have been seen yet in this competition. This is a little unusual for TX at this time of the day, so officials are starting to wonder if either they have no COVID at all,or if they outdid themselves and EVERYONE in that state is dead.

Officials have stated they are hoping for the latter.

And heeereee comes texas. With a very slow start, texas has now moved into the #5 spot, knocking out N Carolina.
Tennessee moved into the #3 spot while no one was looking... and Alabama remains at #4. Florida has not improved their numbers all day, leading us to think they may just be worn out. This may be the day for Texas or California, who is still sitting at 8, to take the lead.

1 - FL - 5,266
2 - GA - 2,207
3 - TN - 2,125
4 - AL - 1,734
5 - TX - 1,694

And Texas makes a BIG jump to the #2 spot with 3,515! Can they take FL? FL has been such a strong competitor all weekend, ringing in 8 and 9k days... are they dead in the water at 5k today? If so, TX may be able to grab that #1 spot.... Just hours remain.

And where's CA in all of this? They have moved up, bringing 816 cases so far... but have not been showing the usual strength.

Oh my! It's the Village PEOPLE!!! HERE COMES CALIFORNIA!!!!!!!

In a DECISIVE move, California has come in and swept Texas out of the #2 spot and put themselves within striking distance of Florida and the #1 spot.


Florida is barely holding #1...
California just sprinting in to #2
TX is wallowing at #3
Georgia, the worst state, is still holding on at #4
And Tennessee, not a common top 5 state is managing to hold #5. Good for them, must have been a few bachelorette parties a couple weeks ago.
