My goodness, it's been a while. Hope you are all doing great and smoking your best. I think I chatted on here right after Bill passed (Wheelerite)...... and then I pretty much took a year off of smoking. Had had a DVT in my right leg, clot broke off and went through my heart and took out part of my rt lung.... damn ankle would swell whenever I smoked a stick, so took a break. Doing much better now and even have a stogie about twice a month. How's my old friends here? Sure do miss Bill, damn it! Cycleman

I had two rounds of both lungs full!!! I should be dead, but it just wasn't my time. Two years in a row. Mine were medium to small in size and blacked out most of the CATscan, but just left scarring in all my outer lobes. That pain is hard to describe and every breath was excruciating. I was already using a CPaP, so it likely kept me supplied with air the night before I finally went to a "Walk-in" clinic from the pain. Got a ride in the ambulance and I was trying to refuse that as well as telling the doctor that I had driven over there and could get myself to the ER. He wasn't buying that and then I told him that my wife's a RN and could drive me, then he said, "She can't do CPR while she's driving! If you have what I suspect, you're lucky to have survived overnight!!" Cost me six days in the hospital, and the second year, I was such a hardhead, I refused to go to the hospital and just started back taking the Coumadin on my own until they could get a scan scheduled, which happened to be a Friday and left before they could send it to be verified by Cleveland Clinic for results. Wife was ill, but by Sunday when she took me to the walk-in for a blood test/ProTime/INR, I was therapeutic, LOL.


Last time I saw him, he told me that I was the reason they now have a red sign out front that says if you have severe chest pains, don't bother checking in, just go to the ER.


I took up cigar smoking AFTER they occurred. Mine were causing some serious pain the first time, I caught them the second year from knowing that pain.

Owee for sure. My leg had swelled twice the size. When inhailing, it felt like a bayonett in my back and as I brought in ait.... they were twisting the knife..... sucked! Did they give you a vienacava filter? I have one. Hope it helps if needed. Glad you are doing better.
