so Rittenhouse was violating state gun laws, had a gun in his possession, had just shot several people, with many police officers present among many witnesses who were urging them to stop him....why wasn't he killed, or at least shot, or arrested by Kenosha PD?

was it because......................................................................................🐘

Weird how following the law is suddenly kinda just "suggestions" anyway... "not a big deal".

I have made no statement about whether you think Zimmerman was an idiot or a genius.

I read it and still ask the question, as most professional law enforcement personnel should...why didn't they arrest Rittenhouse?

the Sheriff's defense of his troops was very weak...he could muster only "a shooting with all the people shouting and hollering is a confusing event where officers develop tunnel vision"...he also said he didn't want citizens to bring guns to protests, because police are trained to deal with them, and that this is what they didn't want to happen...

if his folks were highly trained, why did they not arrest Rittenhouse when he was still on scene, and apparently willing to surrender?

police officers are trained to make rational decisions under high stress situations...you remember the scenario training, where people were brought in to play parts of suspects, victims, bystanders and plainclothes cops, etc. in various simulated criminal situations in locations with buildings and other props that made the circumstances as real as possible...they tried to make each scenario real life-like, and sometimes very chaotic and very confusing to determine a recruit's ability to think and act under high stress...the "shoot - don't shoot" ones were nerve wracking...but the priority was to ID the shooter first

it is not surprising, then, that Sheriff Beth and the Kenosha Police Chief Miskinin, who blamed the shooting on the curfew violators, have both been asked to resign and have done so...

to excuse poor law enforcement performance perpetuates the problem of inadequate policing and fuels the demands for reform.

edit: Sheriff Beth and Chief Miskinin have not resigned, and county and city officials have not asked them to...apologies for this mistake

Ya, I have family members like that too. My father said the government should shoot protesters... I told him he has lost his right to ever call anyone anti-American again... I also questioned whether he even knows what it means to be an American.

He's proven to me to be a racist pos though over and over again, so there's that...

On another note, he tried to convince me I was white towards the end there... I laughed at him, and the look in his eye said he a had no clue why.

He used to keep that sh*t in check... at least a little. Then Trump gave him all the ammo necessary to justify the bigot thoughts filling his head. Every racist thing he did or said was justifiable in his mind because Trump.

Seriously... if he wanted little white, aryan kids he shouldn't have been out there banging brown chicks.

We had a falling out, it was mainly over his renewed heavy bigotry and overall hatefulness. Towards the end, I was like... can you just put the same filter on around me that you put on around Gregory (Our golfing buddy who is Black... didn't have the heart to tell Gregory on how bad he has become).

Haven't spent any time with him in over a year, stopped golfing with him, or talking to him at all. The weird part is, he's the one that has me on a narcissistic silent treatment.

Sometimes peaceful killing and maiming coincides with peaceful rioting and looting.

Sounds like the poor performance was met with being removed from their positions rather than with excuses. You're last two sentences are a bit contradictory.
