Newsom and his wife, Jennifer Siebel Newsom, attended a birthday party for his political adviser Jason Kinney, a registered lobbyist, at the Michelin-starred French Laundry restaurant in Yountville on Nov. 6, first reported by the San Francisco Chronicle. The governor visited the restaurant with more than three other households at the same time that he and his administration were warning Californians not to gather with their own families during Thanksgiving.

After taking much criticism, he apologized today.

Then he ordered 28 counties to return to the purple tier — 94% of Californians will be under the state’s most restrictive guidelines as of Tuesday. Mess with the bull, get the horns.

The 'Rona is wicked fahkin' smahhht. It knows not to infect people who walk into the gym with a mask, but take it off to work out. It also knows it cannot infect people who wear masks to the restaurant, but then take them off at the table, once they are seated. He should be totally good.

Smartest. Virus. Evah!

A curfew is also now under consideration for California.

Oh and don’t fly out of the state or into the state. Two week quarantine is now recommended. Not required yet. You can check out any time you’d like but you can never leave!

Curfew, eh? Wonder if it applies to antifa and blm protests? They should be good, right?

Saw this on YouTube, Elon Musk tweeted:

Something extremely bogus is going on. Was tested for covid 4 times today. Two tests came back negative, two came back positive. Same machine, same test, same nurse. Rapid antigen test from BD.

Mac's...

All those tests are a joke...

None of them have 100% effectifity...
Meaning...they are not accurate at all...

Just money makers for the company who sells them.

I don't know. Effectifity sounds like a good word. I read through it without noticing. Thought it was efficacy.

we're way past the point that anyone needs to try to prove why they believe or why they don't.
small samples. large samples.
good government. bad government
People search until they find whatever they need to support what they already felt, or maybe wished for, in their guts.

as for me, much as I enjoy a good conspiracy, it strains credibility that virtually every scientist in virtually every country has been involved in a ruse.

I accept that political response is open for debate, but this thing is real, it's not done, and it's one for the ages.

one question: should I have said "credulity" rather than "credibility"?

As a wordsmith I would have accepted either. 🤣

I'm absolutely over it, Frank. 15 day lockdown to slow the spread turned into mass panic for what? Less than 2% of people are dying. The "cure" is worse than the disease.

I understand. Not sure if I limit my mental back-and-forth to death percentages though.

Decisions that impact the economy and everyone's livelihood are legitimately debatable, but claims of masks as a stepping stone to loss of freedom? Drives me crazy.

MACS, the science says right now we are finding about 1/4 of the people who get SARS-Covid2. So the percentage dying probably is about .5%, right around where it was expected to be. Roughly 250,000 people. I would like to know how many suicides there are, familys destroyed, businesses gone, additional people with severe mental issues, what the predicted damage to the GDP is for say the next 10 years.

I am serious about all of the above. It is not intended to disparage anyone.

The good news for today is the Moderna vaccine is every bit as promising as the Pfizer BioNTech vaccine. Either one has a high enough efficacy to create herd immunity. Now the biggest problem to tackle is ramping up to vaccinate everyone.

actually, if the early reports bear out in the long run, Moderna seems to be a way better prospect.

Not gonna take it... don't see a need for it unless you're in the "at-risk" group. Mass vaccination without all of the rigorous testing all other vaccines go through? For a virus that kills very few? Doesn't sound fishy to me at all... totally cool, right?

As George H.W. Bush said; Not gon' do it... (interesting note, he was talking about new taxes and he did do it. I am completely serious, though).
