Just a thought for those of you struggling with a lack of sleep... I can't say this is definitely true, but my understanding of sleep and alcohol is that sleep under the influence of alcohol doesn't count as true sleep...
And your body will always wake up after the effects of alcohol wear off...
It's not uncommon to go back to sleep after that, but you're literally starting your sleep cycle from scratch, which is difficult to do and taxing on the body and mind...
which is why many people, after prolonged alcohol use, stop "going back to sleep" and just accept whatever amount of sleep they initially get...
Just a thought, not an indictment or judgement... I'd sleep better if I didn't smoke pot or drink caffeine but I still do both... it is what it is...
