Nice Pulp Fiction reference, MACS.

Back now into the Pulp Non Fiction of the virtual office. Hopefully the half day away on Friday doesn’t make for a mess today.

Morning everyone. We had a nice weekend. We threw a BBQ on Saturday with all our neighbors invited, all showed up. It was a nice way to meet them. We hired a local blues band and a local jazz band for entertainment. We actually knew 2 of the couples but had not been aware of it. They had moved from Illinois sooner than we had. That was especially fun to reconnect with them.

Sunday we went to incline village to get to know the area a little bit.

Great Monday Morning!

Had a small thunderstorm pass over this morning, dropped a enough rain to clear the air for a while.

Good morning folks. Nothing on today's schedule. Neck hurts, so I took my first muscle relaxant in like seven to 10 days. Should feel fine in an hour or two. Nothing but some housework today.... kitchen, change bed sheets and spray some weeds around the pool deck. That's about it.

Today is also National Two Different Colored Shoes Day

Going back into the late '80s I pulled a stunt in the office one day by bringing in an extra pair of shoes that were the same except for color - one pair beige and the other black. Our company receptionist was a bit gullible, so I told her that my shoes had the capability of changing color while I was wearing one of each color a couple of minutes later I showed up at her desk again with two shoes the same color and told her it took several minutes for the change to take place. She bought the story and told several people about the magic shoes. The National Day was begun in the late '80s by Arline Kaiser (from my state) and one of the other office personnel had the same surname, so there is a possibility I was the inspiration. Unfortunately, Aline Kaiser Died in 2009 or 2010, so I can't ask her and I can't remember where the other Kaiser worked in the 90's.

Gonna be on a new project for what sounds like 8 weeks, I'm hoping not. It's a 70 mile one way job and there is no overtime. It's gonna be a lot of pulling cable for the entire station. If I am here the whole time at least it will be a work out. Happy Monday y'all!

Don't worry Tony. You'll be able to ask her in person soon enough.

7 hours uninterrupted sleep.

Back to work. 2 more. Picked up a double time shift. Might do another after that. See how I feel.

My daily commute for a good chunk of about 25 years was around 100 mi round trip. One of my major motivation factors for a career change.
