No they are not. All men are created with equal opportunity and rights. The original meaning of this phrase in out constitution has lost its meaning over time. I am unable to articulate this well but I know it to be true.

When Jefferson wrote “all men are created equal” in the preamble to the Declaration, he was not talking about individual equality. What he really meant was that the American colonists, as a people, had the same rights of self-government as other peoples, and hence could declare independence, create new governments and assume their “separate and equal station” among other nations. But after the Revolution succeeded, Americans began reading that famous phrase another way. It now became a statement of individual equality that everyone and every member of a deprived group could claim for himself or herself. With each passing generation, our notion of who that statement covers has expanded. It is that promise of equality that has always defined our constitutional creed.

That is a direct quote from the Stanford News Service. Part of Stanford University.

I believe this is what ails our great country today. MHO. Every volatile issue of the day relates to this idea.

All free men can choose to be a slave or are they not free to choose?

Brion McClanahan has written and talked much about this in his podcasts

https://www.youtube.com/c/BrionMcClanahan1776/videos

From his article in Cronicles Magazine:

Rejecting the 'Proposition Nation'
The left’s ‘1619 Project’ and the conservative 1776 Commission both rely on a distorted picture of the American founding.

"Consider that Jefferson himself downplayed the importance of the Declaration’s phrase “all men are created equal,” and that, for much of the period leading up to the Civil War, Jeffersonians in both the North and South championed the principles of state sovereignty, rather than those of an egalitarian, propositional nation. To Jefferson, the last paragraph, not the second, provided the most important language of the Declaration. Most of the founding generation agreed."

Damnit, my interpretation of all men created equal meant that I was going to get Micheal Jordan's jumping ability to kick in soon... or at least Kareem's hook shot.

All men were created.
in Adam who was created in His image.

Equality is what Adam & we ourselves did with it since.

Reminds me how Isreal wanted to go back to Egypt when 8 of the 10 spies came back & wouldn't believe Joshua & Caleb.

America is yet a nation under God where it is written

ALL MEN ARE CREATED EQUAL

CRT is deception. a root of bitterness springing up defiling many

I hear guvnuhhh Northum can moonwalk

https://news.stanford.edu/press-releases/2020/07/01/meaning-declaratnce-changed-time/  that is the article I found this in. I just started trying to work through this thought that has been percolating in my mind. What was the original meaning of that line? For me it doesn't make sense because clearly all men are not equal.
