with Bibi, peace was a one way street...a totally unrealistic view in that part of the world...

not sure if there's a will to convict him though even if there's evidence of his guilt...

And as much as I support Israel I can’t fault how my country helped win the war or second guess it. We made a big difference in that war and I’m proud of many many members of my family that fought it. I’m not big on questioning decisions made to win the war. Limited resources bring decisions and I believe without the ones we made the war would have gone longer and perhaps be lost. I dont care about the party of the President. If you expect absolute obedience from the US stfu and say thank you.

The better criticism (and more legitimate) of FDR to me would be some of his decisions prior to the war…. Say 1939ish. We should be ashamed about a few of those.

But not for winning the war in a different way than bibi can second guess. Eff him.

sometimes the greatest thing someone great from history does is accept information that changes his/her mind and is inspired to do the right thing.
I might be alive today because Morgenthau (after 3 years) finally made Roosevelt see the reality of the world at the time, and Roosevelt finally did the right thing.

edit: I would be here, but many I know would never have been born.

I’ve mentioned my uncles Bud and Louis before. Louie had lifelong ptsdt presumably from the battle of the bulge but they both were among the first in to free the camps.

Bibi can suck it if that wasn’t enough.

Tim, as a Jew and an advocate for Israel, I think the hard defiance we see in Bibi is more Israeli culture than anything else. It's not that the U.S. has not been incredibly generous, but that the first thing that still comes to an Israeli's mind- before anything else- is survival. And, that has to come first in my mind. Having said that, he's definitely a di*k.

If anyone thinks Bennett is handing over control to Yair Lapid in two years I've got a bridge to sell you. Bennett is already shuffling the Knesset around like a deck of cards at a Vegas blackjack table. He's not well liked outside of the far right and if it were business as usual for the next two years I doubt he last. But, nothing galvanizes a country around a leader like a good war and Bennett is a hawks hawk. He's also the first practicing Orthodox Jew to run the country in years. He takes his religious duties very seriously. First among those is the security of Israel. He's against a Palestinian State and is for the annexation of all the occupied territories. He thinks there should be more settlements pushing farther out to grab more land. He's also wants to take control of the Temple Mount. We all know Hamas is going to give him all the excuses he'll need to pick a fight too. When all the Imam's start calling for the destruction of the Israeli state this guy is not going to laugh it off. He's got one of the best and most seasoned Air Force's in the world and the IDF to play around with and he knows exactly what they can do. He was Minister of Defense at one point. If I were running Hamas today the only thing I would be able to say with a straight face is "Smoke 'em if you got 'em. It's about to get serious."

^This, +1 on #12 though I am not Jewish by blood, part of my heart is their's. The middle east will never stop trying to wipe Jews and Israel off the face of the earth. It's a fine time to end their terrorists.

Robert, Tim makes a strong point. Our support for Israel is unwavering as it always has been. It is wrong for anyone from Israel to call us out and belittle our efforts. I believe you when you state that is the Israeli mind set. In all honesty IDGAF. Our foundation supports Israel at all times. We are talking more than a few shekels. I don't like that the United States is disparaged.

The Arab world will always be what it is. A bunch of nomadic warring tribes who live and die by the sword. Our mistake has been to treat them as anything but that. I'm not worried about oil, we can have the government changed at a moments notice, make better friends with Mexico, open up pipelines with Canada, and way better use CNG. Hell, bovine methane recapture is being worked on as is landfill methane recapture.

As far as our radical Muslims here, piss on em, same thing as the radicals of any religion here, or radicals period. Muslims are good people if they are not radical, that goes for all religions. Make Omar some state department flunky in Yemen, she would like that.

Robert I know and appreciate that. But bibi’s remark at our expense was to purposely stoke that culture and I don’t appreciate or accept that. We left too much blood on the field. My family lost too much doing so.

Bibi left with the grace of Trump and to that I say good riddance.

I’m also tired of it being ok for Israel to criticize the us but as soon as someone is critical of Israel they are antisemites. Where have we seen that before?

They don’t have to suck our hind teet, although without it they are gone. But nor do we suck theirs. We are not subservient to them.

In some ways they have become arrogant spoiled brats (at the leadership level). And I recognize just trying to survive can have that effect. But they are NOT always right and anyone critical of them are not always wrong.

And god bless Israel and it’s people and keep them safe from harm. God bless America and keep us safe from harm. God bless the special relationship between our countries. And god bless those outside our two countries and keep them safe from harm. I suspect god doesn’t care about man made borders or who wins sporting events.

The Temple Mount and all the historic/religious sites nearby should be open for Jews, Christians and Muslims, provided that it can be done safely. The rock beneath the dome of the mosque there is where Judeo-Christian folklore sez Abraham bound Isaac to sacrifice him. It is all sacred ground to all and should be open to all.
