No-one here knew my friend Eric but I'd like to memorialize him here anyway.Eric was a dear friend who was diagnosed about 12 weeks ago with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Eric passed todayr,he and I worked together several years out in the Permian Basin and became good friends. We made several beer-b-q's,gun shows, countless steak house get togethers and I can't count the times we spent a day at China Lake drinking beer, sipping whiskey and drowning hooks. He was from Homedale Idaho and hated the west Texas heat as much as I do.Eric was a mans man and I mean that in more ways than one..........he spent every October in the Owyhee Mountains trout fishing and elk hunting, yep the entire month in a camp tent.Eric was also the only gay man I ever became best friends with. You libs would have hated him.............he listened to Rush Limbaugh daily, voted republican and hated flamers who he felt gave the gay community and him a bad name.God broke the mold when he made this man

Eric I love you brother........... Til we meet again my friend.

I was hammered when I posted this..........I didn't even come close to sharing just how great of a guy he was. He'd give you the shirt off his back and never expect anything in return.

Think I'll get drunk again..........eases the pain

R.I.P.

Know how you feel...

My best friend is going through bladder cancer for three yrs now...immunno therapy didn't work, chemo 3 different times then the invasive surgery, then one kidney stopped functioning and was removed, now he's in stage two renal failure on the other kidney...lots of pain and no appetite hardly...
He just got a pallative doctor about three months ago...pain killers and Ativan gets him thru the day...some days he's too bummed to go outside...
I've been getting him to go to my cabin whenever possible to get away from the old routines and surroundings...
His son just started at Drexel University last fall...

Life is a bitch...and a crap shoot ...plus a lot of luck or no luck...
