Holy crap, I actually agree with RayR on something. Rumsfeld was scum. I hope he rots in hell. So do half a million dead Iraqis and Afghans.

Dude deserves respect in death even if you disagree with him. He was doing what he thought best for country even if I disagree with him. He is not the enemy.

He was a warmonger and a liar. At one point in 2001 or 2002 the Taliban wanted to surrender, and even Hamid Karzai was willing to accept the terms of their surrender, and Rumsfeld refused. Remember that? Any deaths after that are on him. He also claimed more than once that he had concrete evidence of a link between Saddam Hussein and Al-Queda. He also claimed more than once that he knew where Saddam's WMDs were. Remember that?

People like Rumsfeld are absolutely my enemy, and I hope Satan fist f**ks him every day for all eternity.

Neo-con history gets softened over the years...the outrage over fighting discretionary wars seems to have abated over time...Rumsfeld was just a tip of that spear...

America is fortunate that the neo-con movement at the upper echelons of US intelligence and leadership was exposed, given what their ultimate goal was in the ME...luckily we aren't dependent on ME petroleum any longer and our ME policy isn't entirely shaped by Israeli needs...most Americans were not supportive of their objectives

but still, he was an American who did what he thought was best: RIP Mr. Rumsfeld, the ultimate known unknowable

We've never been dependent on ME oil. We've just been sitting on our supply until everybody else runs out, or until we have to give it to China in lieu of their bonds. The known known about Rumsfeld is that he was a warmonger and a liar. Stop glorifying warmongers.
