Generally do these cigars come ready to smoke? Everytime i ordered some i put them in the humidor. I'm going on a work fishing trip with clients and cigars were on my list of responsibilities. Ordered some last week and they should be delivered tomorrow, trip is friday. Should i keep them in the wood box and plastic they were shipped in or should i throw them in the humidor for a couple days? I'm leaning towards keeping them in the box so they survive the road trip down there. I'm probably worrying too much about it.

I try to give mine at least a couple of weeks if not a month or two before lighting them up...

What did you order?

No most cigars that arrive are not ready to smoke if you want a decent smoke. At least 2 weeks in the humidor is my minimum and six months or longer for some. Hopefully your work crew are not cigar smokers or you are indispensable.

Ave Maria Clermont Box of 20, i may end up going to a smoke shop and keeping these for later. The work crew aren't really smokers and i like to think i am indispensable haha

They'll be fine... I smoke a lot of stuff right off the truck... especially a cigar like an ave maria, no one will notice...

They usually ship over humidified, and they’ve been shocked by temp changes so rest them for at least a week or two.

Some of us wait 2-10 years.

Not that there's anything wrong with smoking ave marias.... you just don't have to treat them like an opus... I wouldn't even bother taking them out of the box until it's smoking time...

That works. I mean I know they’re not anything to brag about I just worried about showing up with something dry as a bone. Should be good enough for what I’m doing

Especially for a fishing trip, you got no worries... they'll probably go 75% unsmoked...

I remember when Opie puffed on my cigar fresh off the boat from Senegal.

Good call on the Ave Maria’s.
Mild wispy smoke.
Decent construction.
Impressive label.
Perfect for your occasion, and none of your buddies will barf from nicotine spins.
