A Japanese pharmaceutical company, Kowa Co, said on Monday that the drug ivermectin has an "antiviral effect" against Omicron and other Covid-19 variants.

The finding was made with Tokyo's Kitasato University on a joint non-clinical research project, which has been testing the drug as a potential treatment for the disease, according to Reuters.

Kowa says that ivermectin showed the "same antiviral effect" on all "mutant strains," including Alpha, Delta and Omicron. The company also noted that ivermectin suppresses invasion of the virus and inhibits its replication.

"[Ivermectin] is expected to be applied as a therapeutic drug (tablet) for all new coronavirus infectious diseases," reads the report.

Of note, Reuters changed their original headline from "effective" against Omicron to having an "antiviral effect," and corrected a statement that the finding occurred during "Phase III clinical trials."

Ivermectin is at the heart of an ongoing 'medical misinformation' campaign surrounding podcaster Joe Rogan and several expert guests who have advocated for the use of the anti-parasitic drug as an early treatment option for Covid-19 patients. Rogan himself used ivermectin as part of a cocktail of treatments when he contracted Covid-19.

Controversy over free speech erupted last week after singers Neil Young and Joni Mitchell demanded that Spotify remove their music catalog unless Rogan was silenced.

Rogan responded to the drama on in a Monday Instagram video, in which he said he only seeks to have conversations on his podcast with people who have "differing opinions," and that he isn't "trying to promote misinformation."

He noted that he's booked experts from all sides, including CNN's chief medical correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta, Dr. Michael Osterholm, who is a member of President Joe Biden’s COVID-19 advisory board, and Dr. Peter Hotez from Baylor College of Medicine.

Rogan also pointed out that many previously-verboten Covid claims have turned out to be true.

According to ivmmeta.com, Ivermectin showed an average 64% improvement as an early treatment, a 39% improvement as a late treatment and an 83% improvement as a prophylaxis, across 77 studies.

As The Epoch Times notes;

Ivermectin has been used by the World Health Organization for over 30 years to treat parasitic infections. Volunteers have distributed the drug in African countries where it has been found to be extremely effective, said the Kowa report.

However, the treatment has been mired in controversy during recent times as the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has not approved the use of ivermectin as a treatment for COVID-19, even though the drug is used in humans to treat a variety of conditions.

The FDA has refused to respond to a Freedom of Information Act request (FOIA) asking for details about any reports of side effects related to the use of ivermectin in treating COVID-19 while publicly denouncing its usage.

The federal government pays hospitals across the country to treat COVID-19 patients, but the payment is tied to approved methods, and ivermectin is not part of the protocol.

However, families desperate to save their loved ones are resorting to secretly sneaking the drug into hospitals as a last-ditch effort that often ends up helping the infected person recover.

All or part of 22 countries around the globe have approved the use of ivermectin in the treatment of COVID-19, based on multiple studies. Japan has not yet approved ivermectin for the treatment of COVID-19.

A bill has been presented to make New Hampshire the first state in the country to make ivermectin part of the approved COVID-19 treatments and offer it as an over-the-counter medication.

^ No, Kowa Pharmaceuticals is doing a legitimate study just entering phase 3. No one else has done this because there is no big money to be made on Ivermectin. I will be very interested to see what the results show at the end of phase 3. All viable options to treat Covid-19 are needed. Though HIV will never be eradicated a cocktail of drugs keep people with the virus at 0% measurable. Since Covid-19 does end, perhaps a cocktail will end up being the best choice of treatment. I have thought this likely since the beginning.

I would like to see a legitimate study using Dexamethasone, Remdesivere, and Ivermectin in combination.

Whoops! How embarrassing! The CDC gave you bad advice. If you want to survive COVID, you should use the drug they said to avoid, and avoid the drug they said to use.


Remember that “horse dewormer” that the FDA, CDC, NIH, CNN, and Sanjay Gupta all told you not to use? A new paper recently published in the Journal of the AMA (JAMA) shows that Ivermectin works way better than the COVID vaccine in keeping you from dying from COVID.

This was an open-label randomized trial done in Malaysia with around 250 patients in each arm. One arm got IVM + standard of care, the other arm got the standard of care.

Of course, JAMA never would have published this if they thought that people would actually look at the data. The abstract says: “The study findings do not support the use of ivermectin for patients with COVID-19.” You are supposed to read the abstract and believe that ivermectin has no effect.

In fact, that’s exactly what people do even when you tell them expressly to ignore that:

Do not fall for it. Read the paper if you want the truth. If you want to be misled, just read the abstract.

Pierre Kory did a brilliant takedown of the paper on his substack. I won’t repeat that here. Instead, I’ll just summarize the data for you; the hidden gems in the paper that you are never supposed to notice.
The data

The lower the p-value, the more significant the result is. A Chi-squared test was used. Data came from the JAMA paper appendix.


So there are five takeaways from the study:

Vaccine efficacy in the real world is quite small. If you got vaccinated, it reduced your chance of death by just 24%. However, the study did NOT look at the all-cause mortality of the vaccine (it only enrolled people who survived the vaccine), so the tiny absolute risk reduction you get from a 24% relative risk reduction (roughly 24% of .25% =.06% benefit) is less than the absolute risk of dying from the vaccine (around .2%). See Incriminating Evidence for details on this.

If you were not vaccinated (which you shouldn’t be), ivermectin reduced your chance of death by 72%. So it was 3 times more effective than the vaccine. But the risk of ivermectin is negligible so the risk-benefit ratio is extremely favorable. Ivermectin has a 3X effect size (benefit) and is more than 100,000X less risky with respect to death risk, killing nobody (compared to over 200,000 people from the vaccine). So it’s the clear choice. It’s the only rational choice.

The vaccine did provide a SMALL incremental benefit if you took both (10% lower risk), but it’s a non-starter since the risk-benefit analysis doesn’t support ever using the vaccine.

If we want to reduce deaths, ivermectin is the way to go. Avoid the vaccine entirely.

There is no way you have a paper like this with 431,000 views and just two comments. This implies that virtually all the comments were counter-narrative and were censored from public view. That in itself is stunning.

Note that multidrug protocols that use ivermectin are much better than ivermectin alone. For example, the Fareed Tyson protocol has treated 10,000 people with no deaths, whereas in this study, 1 of the 75 unvaccinated people who got ivermectin died (1.3%). Multidrug protocols are clearly the way to go.

It doesn’t get much better than this. A paper published in JAMA showing ivermectin is three times better than the vaccines in preventing death. Combined with the risk data of the vaccines, it’s clear that if you are given a choice, you’d always choose ivermectin and never choose the vaccine.

Will this paper make a difference? I don’t think so.

This is the most recent JAMA paper on ivermectin. It states the exact opposite of what your source does. The paper is from 2/18/ 22. I go directly to JAMA, as most secondary information tends to be inaccurate, as your source is.

Yeah, it appears I was overly optimistic at the headlines given and the charts in the article without going to JAMA itself.

I am hopeful the Kowa phase 3 provides definitive answers on Ivermectin. It is designed to do so. I consider everything to date to be antidotal, at least what I can find. I really would like to see some clinical studies done on cocktails. Personally I think that may offer the best treatment. I find the ongoing discussion about a second booster ridiculous. That's like taking last year's flu shot. Why? A shot for the prevalent variants now makes sense.

The only way I learned to go to the source was being burned by secondary and tertiary information. BTW Saniflo and Galaxo Smith Cline just submitted to the FDA with a traditional vaccine. 0% deaths, 25% ICU. Looks very interesting. 2 shot regimen.
