Took the kids shooting this afternoon at my brother's friend's farm. Was a nice day weather wise. First time my kids held a firearm other than a pellet gun. We went through all the safety stuff again prior to shooting. At first they were a bit nervous but after a few turns they settled in and were on target for the most of the rounds. Shot a few handguns and killed off couple old Kindle readers.

I think their favorite one to shoot was a 22 lever action. My daughter was like a Annie Oakley ringing the steel targets on almost every shot (it was at short range though). She's right handed but turns out she's left eye, Kinda odd, but she took to it easily and naturally.

They both did pretty well considering their first time out of the gate.

I'd love to move back WI, this is where I belong but wheels up at 5:30 PM tomorrow to go back to MA (sigh).

Yesterday: Early hike then t-storm followed by a cigar on the porch then t-storm followed by yard work then t-storm etc. A nice 64/74 today with more of the same.

Been there, as with all construction jobs, we were constantly working ourselves out of a job, and to make it worse, anti-nuclear crazies were always trying to kill the nuclear power plant construction industry

It's ironic how many couples come to the range to introduce "her" to shooting and the women end up being better shots. My wife is also right-handed and left-eyed. She is a great shot with a pistol and is now working on rifle shooting with her left eye covered.

Sounds like a great sendoff, safe travels.
