Paperwork? So what kind of work are you in E-chick. I couldn't remember if I thanked you for thinking of me when those mild smokes were being given away.

Hey, sorry I missed you tonight in the chat room!

Uh, work...

Besides being mom to a 17 yr old daughter and a nearly 14 yr old son, I'm wifey-poo to Mike for nearly 20 years....isn't that enough work! LOL!

Seriously, I do our books for our business...when I'm not on Cbid that is...I don't HAVE to work...just do.

Oh, I forgot the PR I do for the biz too! I've owned several business since I was 18.

Nearly 20 years in the flower biz, both as a florist, grower and wholesaler, automated floral vending machine franchisor, opened two of the first paint-your-own ceramics studios in the country and ran them for 5 years simutaneously with our flower shops (which I think we've had about 17 of over the years), I convinced Mike to quit the flower biz and devote his full time to refrigeration. I encouraged him a few years back to get his general contractor's license which he did and then on to the refrigeration license...and now, I help with hubby's commercial refrigeration biz...he has huge accounts and it's getting bigger.

Of course I've been Little League team mom, Girl Scout leader, Girl Scout Cookie Chairman, major school volunteer, church (yes, I said church) function volunteer, yadayadayada...If someone needs a hand, I'm there.

So, I do a LOT, but don't consider that I have a J-O-B!

I know WHAT you do...but what do you REALLY do?

When I first saw floral vending machines and paint your own ceramics I just didn't get it. I thought "this is doomed".

Then on business travel I've noticed the vending machines again and thought "what a great idea".

Then my wife and kids went to a paint your own ceramics shop to kill some time and they loved it...spent all day.

You obviously have some great business sense.

Just remember that all work and no play makes Jane...smoke cigars and spend hours on cbid.

:~)

Don't you have patients to attend to?

I'm just ribbing you!

You seriously need to stop picking apart what people say, though i.e., Smokin' Girl's thread...she's most likely a Smokin' Dude out trolling for trouble on the board. It happens on a weekly basis here...and if not, she sounds very young and IMO has a lot to learn if that is her main concern.

BTW, Slim is doing a fine job at trying to control the masses and there just isn't room enough for 2 of you. You may want to back off the heavy preaching and the looking down your nose while scolding aproach. It won't fly.

Other than THAT, welcome! Nice to have you here. And as always, your opinion counts. Did I just contradict myself? LOL!

Sounds like you do have alot on your plate at all times. I like the working for yourself thing. I am trying that myself with freelance webdesign. But the AS400 is like a mainframe type system. Companies use them to run everything. I have worked for two companines that use the for different things. Mainly alot of reporting and payroll. I also do PC hardware software tech support. I am learning programming very very slowly

We had a paint your own ceramic place near us when I was a kid. E that make you 60 65 years old?

I should have stated "contemporary" ceramic studio I guess...

It wasn't the type where fat, 60 yr old women with short poodle-ish hair came in wearing their polyester elastic waisted slacks and their button down floral blouses with their Dr. Scholls on and cleaned the greenware, fired it, painted/glazed it, fired it and then stuck it on the shelf at home(...how's that for a stereotype!?).

It was/is a party like cafe environment that mostly men and women in their 20's and 30's participate in. Lots of kiddies on the weekends and summers and dating couples on Saturday nights...it's concept was different than what you remember. A much 'cleaner' process with less time waiting for your masterpiece.

If you ever come across a studio like mine, you should try it or take the baby in to do handprints on the bisque plate or mug or something...makes for a cool keepsake! Just don't drop the item!

And I'll be 60-65 soon enough, LOL!

Just hope I never go down the 'fat, 60 yr old women with short poodle-ish hair came in wearing their polyester elastic waisted slacks and their button down floral blouses with their Dr. Scholls on' path!!!

Somebody slap me if I do!
