In CA, gas stations are required to provide free air/water.

I dunno about FL. But with gas prices as crazy as they are in CA, they need to give you something for free!

I'd normally use an air compressor that plugged into the cigarette lighter or the battery back to top the tires off at home in the driveway when needed. Still not quite raining here yet. Sprinkling, so the ground and the truck is wet... but not full on rain, yet. Not overly windy, either.

My brother lives in evacuation zone C. Zones A & B are evacuated and parts of zone C was added to the evacuation area but not where he is at. Too late to evacuate even if he wanted.

That’s the fun with hurricanes. Once you decide you made a mistake and want to leave it is too late and unsafe. Now you just sit and listen to the wind. He’s getting sustained tropical storm winds but not hurricane strength yet.

I saw that the eye wall is 40 miles wide. That 40 miles on the coast where this hits will be leveled like a 40 mile wide bull dozer.

It’s a small, compact and can be stored in the trunk along with jumper cables in case there is nobody around to jump start your car. It's small enough to store in a glove box but I'm not sure I would want a large capacity Li-ion battery sitting in the passenger compartment especially in the baking summer heat. I’ve used it to jump start a previous commuter car and a friend’s smaller SUV. I was surprised that such a small thing would work but I’ve only used in on smaller engines. Probably wouldn’t work on a bigger block or a diesel engine. It also doubles as an additional source to charge phones and stuff with its USB outlets.

HAM Radio is the way to go!!! Oh one that runs on Batteries of course, or rig up one of those exercise bikes in the front room so the Mrs. can peddle her ass off to run current so ya'll can still check yer facebooks... 🇨🇮

I'm surprised no one has mentioned what Ian did in Cuba. Pinar del Río was flattened. That's the heart of all the Cuban tobacco farms. Their homes, barns, curing sheds and farming equipment are gone. No electricity and their water sources are screwed. It will take a long time to recover. The only place on the island with power are the tourist areas. Those poor farmers are screwed.

My brother is getting 79 mph winds and lost power.

Sanibel where the eye is crossing is 132 mph.
