I have an acrylic humidor lined with Spanish cedar that I keep at 65 RH and 69 degrees. Some of my cigars smoke perfectly, but some burn too slow to a point that they were ruined. My cigars have been resting for over a month after mail delivery. Am I doing something wrong? How do I get a more consistent burn out of my cigars?

Are you talking about the SAME cigar, some burn fine, but others from the same lot burn “too slow”.
What kind of cigars….brand, size, vitola.

What do you mean they burn too slow and they become “ruined”?
Is the draw the same as the ones that burn properly?
A well packed, dense, 54 ring cigar with a thick broadleaf wrapper and heavy Nicaurguan binder and filler will burn MUCH slower than a lightly filled, 44 ring Connie.

Thanks for the reply. I have this issue with same cigars and different ones. Mostly robustos and some churchills. I've had this happen with Avo Classic, Rocky Patel Sun Grown Maduro, 5 Vegas Gold, La Gloria Cubana Esteli, etc. The cigars I have problems with are hard to light and burn cold and slow. Takes a lot of puffs to keep them going and a lot of purging if I make it to the end.

Sounds like you have a humidification issue, is my guess.
Could be your hygrometer is fuqed.

Are all your cigars coming from the same online source?
Many online bendors keep their supply at a rather high RH.
If your storage system isn’t up to snuff with respect to being able to drop the RH in a timely fashion?
Could be a problem.
Also, could be that some of the stuff you get may be UNDER humidified, and after staying in your humi, which MIGHT be at too high an RH, they balance out and smoke well………for a while.

Like I said, lots of variables.
What are you using for RH and temp control?

How full is your humi?

I use Boveda 65% packs. Temp is room temp that I keep at 71. I have several digital hygrometers that have been calibrated and they all read within a percent of each other. Temp inside humidor is generally 69-70. All cigars from same retailer...maybe need more time?

How many cigars vs Bovedas?
Do you have enough Bovedas in there?
More is always better.
RH regulation will happen quicker.

And, how full is the humi?

Definitely more time is a good thing.
My MINIMUM is one week for every travel day…….that’s a minimum!
Usually 6 months to a year.
Exception to the rule is if I got a nice fiver from tenski that arrived with a humi pack……….I might fire one up immediately!

May be a problem of humidity where you are smoking. Rocky Patel and 5 Vegas are strange and variable. Never had a problem with an AVO classic. When it gets humid outside I sometimes have problems with cigars going out and needing relights.

Humidor capacity is 75 cigars. I barely have 40 cigars in there with 4 Boveda size 60s. I smoke indoors with windows cracked and outside humidity is 51%. Will give it more time and see. Thanks.

I think your setup is fine and that you are probably just experiencing inconsistencies in manufacturing. I've experienced inconsistencies with most of that stuff except the Avo, and just haven't smoked that many of those.

You didn't refer to what kind of draw you are experiencing. When you have this problem, are the smokes hard to draw through? Same cigar, different experience from one to another?

Harder draw can be associated with a too tightly rolled cigar, a plugged cigar or an over humidified cigar, A plugged or tight cigar can draw hard and smoke slowly with about any humidity level..

I don't know if you can save a smoke that's too moist once it's lit. You might get it to burn, but it might not taste like it should,

Another possibility is the rate at which you smoke. Smoking slowly can make it so that the cigar will tend to burn too slowly, while smoking too fast can reduce the enjoyment and time it takes to smoke the cigar. I remember one smoker saying he didn't like nubs because they only lasted about 40 minutes and weren't that good. I smoked one and timed it at an hour and 9 minutes. He slowed it down and found that a bit over an hour produced much better results.
