I have a few Cigar Oasis Caliber Hygrometers that I am testing in a ziplock bag with a 65% Boveda for two days. Both are reading 67-68 Rh and higher temps than the house. I also have another smaller hygrometer in there which is reading exactly 65% and the house temp.
I’m going to calibrate the calibers. But since they are off with the RH would The temps be off too? Seems like everything is off a few points.
Thanks as always!

Honestly, take all hydrometer out of your humidor. They aren't good for you.
In your case, the less numbers you see the better. Trust the boveda packs.

It is important to test them twice a day, for a month.
Then you have 60 readings.
Then add up all the temps and RH values, and divide by 60, and you have a solid average.

After that, you only have to repeat the test every 3 months….

Dude, from now on, I’m gonna bust your balz every time you start panicing.
Relax…….just use Bovedas and beads and you’ll be fine.

And remember to PRE-TREAT your Bovedas!

THIS.

But make sure you use the old pre-treat method. The newer method is flawed and will cause major issues.

A couple points is not a big issue. If you want to be anal, just right on them +2% or whatever. You could also try the moist salt test (should read 75%) to give you two points of calibration.

- Place the salt in a bottle cap (or another small container).
- Dampen the salt with water. Not soupy. Pretty much like a dry paste.
- Place both the hygrometer and the bottle cap full of damp salt in a Ziploc bag and seal to seal out the air in it while the test is going on.
- Go to sleep.

Keep it like this for a day or so then see what it says. It should read 75% if the ziplock environment is perfect.

As for temps I don't worry about them too much. My place is in a controlled environment when it comes to temperature. Again a few degrees here or there + or - is not a big issue.

That's my 2 cents on the topic.
