It’s just chronic “recycled” tracking numbers, that never update.
(Apparently you can go to your local USPS office and they can look it up)
But us plebes? Nope, we are left in the dark.

Weird thing is, I buy quite a bit of stuff from various online vendors including cigars, ammo, supplements, electronics, etc., and they use USPS……..no issues.

Only get the recycled bullchit from Tenski
And yes, I am a Tenski Platinum Member…

My last goofy tracker from tenski I ordered late May and the tracker said it was delivered to Florida in March, two and a half months before I ordered. Plus I live in NY.

But it doesn't happen every time

Third one in a row now………..maybe I was a dog in a previous life, and bit a few mailmen…

Actually, my German Shepard, Lalo, an unusually large female, accidentally attacked my mailman back in 1977.
Bad scene…..she didn’t bite him, but had him on the ground, was growling/snarling a few inches from his face.
He was smart enough not to move, or paralyzed by fear, and one of my roommates got her off of him.
His mail bag spilled, and of course it was windy, his mail blowing down the street, blah blah….
This was all told to me by my roommates.

It was one of my stoned ass roommate’s fault. Let the dog out on our enclosed porch (when I wasn’t home).
EVERYONE KNEW the rule was Lalo stays in the fuqin backyard when I’m not home! Stoney was just making some lunch in the kitchen, while my other two roomates are drinkin beers in the backyard playing croquette, too buzzed to notice the dog isn’t there.
Fuq!
Lalo was asleep on da couch, when the mailman (a walking route) just waltzed into the porch to deliver the mail and startled the dog. A man with a weird hat, and a big bag?
Led Zeppelin was most likely blaring on our steroid stereo so she didnt hear him until he was literally steppin on the porch. Bad scene.

One of my roommates immediately contacted me at work, and I raced home and talked to the cops, who arrived about 20-30 minutes later.
Fortunately I worked for the Campus Police (SJSU) and walked a security detail with my dog, and one of the regular San Jose cops recognized me. So they knew my dog, and it helped with the chit storm that followed.
We didn't get mail for two months, had to go pick it up.

The campus cops and regular cops were working together to try and catch a serial rapist assaulting females on and around campus. We were escorting female students across campus at night to their cars in the parking garage and local streets, doing stakeouts, using decoys, etc.………never caught him. The assaults stopped once we stepped up efforts to catch him. To this day I’m convinced it was a SJSU employee, or student, because he knew the campus too well.

So I guess that’s why I’m in USPS recycled tracking number hell now……….my bad dog….

She was actually an amazing dog

I’ve had the same problem. Always gets delivered though and usually pretty fast from where I’m at.

I currently have 3 inbound packages from them that all have recycled tracking numbers.

Dan have you experienced this rate of recycled tracking frequency with any other online retailer?
I haven’t, not even close.
Maybe it’s just the hub tenski uses?

Then again, I recently saw a study (on da web) where some outfit selected 500 USPS packages nationwide, and determined that over 60% of them had outdated, wrong, or inaccurate tracking data.

Guess it’s the new normal. The bummer is they are supposed to update them in transit, but from my experience, they never do. Plenty of others on various interweb forums say the same thing.

So why even bother with tracking numbers at this point?
It appears the system is failing, and won’t get any better any time soon.

I dont order the volume I do with other places as I do at tenski. But no, I've never that I can recall received a recycled tracking number from other retailers. Tenski has been getting about 10 orders a month from me, and other places about 4 a month. But like I said, tenski gave me 3 recycled numbers this week alone. It certainly seems to be picking up in frequency.

I noticed a recycled tracking number once and called them about it. They said they ran out of numbers and had to recycle. Maybe they should use some letters.

When you say “they said they ran out of numbers”, tenski must be implying USPS ran out of numbers.
I always assumed tracking numbers were assigned by USPS, but maybe online retailers are assigned a block of tracking numbers??
No idea.
Don’t care.
No matter, because it is simply fubar anyways….

Yeah……….I’m waaaaay further away….
I’m too lazy to go to our local USPS office and have them track it.
It’s a criminally understaffed office, with only a couple competent employees, and constant employee turnover.

Just dreading the day when a tenski package doesn’t make it.
Just got my notification from the Egyptian monument place, with a perfectly functional usps tracking number.
For me at least, this is purely a tenski phenomenon.

10 days.
4 days longer than usual.
I should really stop ordering cigars from tenski on Fri or Sat………..it always takes longer……..like 3-4 days longer.
Guess they don’t work weekends?

I'm up to 5 packages in a row with predelivered tracking numbers.

I wonder if their account is assigned a block of numbers by usps.

I did get UPS tracking on a box today which was nice. Except UPS has a terrible track record of delivering to the wrong houses in my area.

Ordered the Aladino from Tenski and the Pepin/Padron from Tenski's other place--the place that sells Supplies for the Field.

Tenski gave me a tracker that is stuck on "USPS is currently awaiting item." The place that supplies stuff is still on "processing".

I ordered those smokes last Sunday. I have no doubt that I'll receive the cigars, but the thing about that is I should receive them tomorrow or Saturday at the latest.

I'm not doing bidness with a company that can't put cigars in a box and mail them within 2 or 3 business days of an order. That's the reason I quit CBID in 2017. 7 yrs later and people are still coming here to post their complaints. I figure that's where Tenski is heading...

Prolly shoulda taken this thread, and what Danm told me last spring, as a sign, but I had to see for myself.

To Danm and all: Since there aren't really any trackers (Lol), how many days is it taking you to get your cigars, on average, so I'll know when to expect them?

I placed two orders at Tenski night before last, and received tracking numbers today. They might be b.s. tracking numbers, haven't tried them. I usually get my stuff 3 or 4 days later, BUT, I live in PA, so not far for them to ship.
