More oily cigars will make em darker over time. I'd imagine storing in a more dynamic environment would speed up the cello color change with frequent humidity changes. Cigar releases water vapor and some oils as they dry, the oils don't cross the cello membrane and get trapped while the water vapor moves in and out.

I have some lighter cigars that have a few years that have barely tinted the cello. I have some that are noticeably yellowed after just a year. It's not something you can gauge age on reliably but if it is yellowed, it's safe to say it's been around for a while.

For me the petit robusto is the best of the bunch, but they do need some time. I've had the toro and robusto also but default to the petite.

For Le Bijous, I like the Pet Rob and Churchill the best.
I prefer the smaller ring gauge.
Used to be able to steal the Churchill now and again at the other place back in the day………..no more.

That’s been my usual words of experience and hopefully it still holds true.

Because of my initial disdain for them, the only LB I bought were the Petite Robusto and the Toro Fino, a Hawaii exclusive.

I need to dig out the few remaining PRs and TFs I have left before they go past their prime. 😰

They age well, would buy again. Great flavor, and nice kick for an older cigar.

Conan, still haven't revisited the Le Bijou, but did locate them and set them out to be smoked.

As a result of recent unprovoked attacks from Corey, I’ve formed the opinion that LFD in various wrappers is outstanding at the 6 year date and the Tatuaje Black Lancero is excellent at the 5 year mark.

I’ve smoked more than my share of the box pressed torpedoes. Many of them 8 years old or older. When properly aged that Long or older they can be truly sublime.

Contrary to what most people say I prefer to age my cigars at a bit higher rh than what most folks here suggest. I aim for 70/70. There’s a reason that’s the defacto standard for cigar manufacturers. At that point I find the oils don’t dry out as much as they do at 62 or 65 %. To me that makes a huge difference over time. At the same token they need to be checked and rotated frequently to prevent mold growth.

When ready to smoke I’ll bring the humidity down to 62-63% but only on the cigars I plan to smoke within a few months.

Conan already mentioned it, but Jaime Garcia’s age really well.

Most dark La Flor Dominicana, (Double Ligero, Colorado Oscuro, La Nox) age well.

Litto Gomez Diez Original and Small Batch.

Illusione Maduros, cg4, mk12, Ultra and Illusione Corojos, like 88, Original Documents 4/2g

Less pricey options that age well: 601 La Bomba, Blue and Green; San Cristobal Ecuador Habano Oscuro

Good Corojo cigars hold up well also. El Gueguense, Original Camacho Corojo, Leaf by Oscar, C.L.E. Corojo, HVC Serie A
