Need to see who picked up what in the portal during the offseason. I’ve got a favorite but so does everyone else.

UGA plays Clemson week one. I like that... it's ballsy. No scheduling a tomato can... but another top 25 team.

I've been spoiled over the last couple decades. Red Sox, Chiefs, Michigan, Georgia all winning championships.
Only Arsenal has failed to lift a trophy.

Would like to see a Domers Ducks title game. That is likely a 100-1 shot.

FSU got steamrolled by Georgia Tech. 24-21 looks like a close game, but FSU could not stop the run.

They ain't a top 10 team with that defense. Nope.

So in typical NCAA fashion... pretty much every ranked team besides Georgia and Notre Dame played an unranked tomato can. 🐴

The scores reflect that. Except Oregon, who only managed to win by 10 vs Idaho?

My tomato can won! I predict they will win at least two more games this year.

Go Sun Devils!

I’m no fan of NDSU but have to respect their accomplishments. They’ve beaten quite a few FBS teams. Also, keep in mind they take their roster of 63 scholarships (some partial) to those 85-full scholarship programs flush with NIL $$ and amenities, and the games are always on the road with the home town cooking. Many FBS teams are hesitant to even schedule them as it’s a bad look if they lose, they’d rather pay some MAC school more money for a more likely W.

To call North Dakota State's football program a powerhouse may be an understatement.

The Bison are one of the most decorated programs in college football, with their nine NCAA Division I FCS titles coming in an 11-season span between 2011 and 2021. Within that span were two separate winning streaks of 33 and 39 games.

Simply put, NDSU is not your typical FCS football program. As a result of the Bison's past successes against Division I FBS teams, they have come close to earning a spot in the AP Football Poll's top 25, ranking as high as No. 27 during the 2016 season after an upset of Iowa.

North Dakota State's 2016 win over the Hawkeyes is one of several wins the program has earned over Division I FBS programs. This history again comes to light as the Bison open the season against the Deion Sanders-led Colorado Buffaloes.

Here is a look back at NDSU's history of upset victories over FBS teams.

North Dakota State's history of FBS upsets

The program's first win over an FBS opponent came in 2006 when it earned a 29-24 victory over Ball State. NDSU earned two wins over FBS opponents during the 2007 season, defeating Central Michigan by 30 points and Minnesota by six points.

The Bison's 2010 win over Kansas was the first of a six-year streak with a win over FBS programs. NDSU's most recent win over an FBS program was its biggest upset, as it defeated No. 13-ranked Iowa, 23-21.

Year Score
2006 NDSU 29, Ball State 24
2007 NDSU 44, Central Michigan 14
2007 NDSU 27, Minnesota 21
2010 NDSU 6, Kansas 3
2011 NDSU 37, Minnesota 24
2012 NDSU 22, Colorado State 7
2013 NDSU 24, Kansas State 21
2014 NDSU 34, Iowa State 14
2016 NDSU 23, No. 13 Iowa 21

In 2022, the Bison came excruciatingly close to another upset, as Arizona earned a three-point win after scoring a game-winning touchdown with under five minutes remaining in the game.

IIRC Arizona's overall record that year was 5-7. They were much improved in 2023.

So, is USC better than I thought? Or is LSU not as good as others thought?

Props to both teams for scheduling a top 25 team week 1 and not a gimme like so many other schools.
