Ok…I’ll ask the stupid question here. Is the guy really going to have to pay 1500 for those?

Prolly meant to bid $15.00 but didn't put the decimal point in. If I caught the mistake in time, I'd cancel the credit card that they have on file so it didn't get charged.

On my credit cards and debit card I put a cap on the max allowed for daily charges in case it gets lost without me knowing it. If I have to use the card to pay for something over that max daily limit, I just call them ahead of time to let them know so they will let it pass through. I also do the same if I place an online order for something from an overseas supplier.

Honestly, he may not even know until his card gets charged or maybe even when his cc bill arrives.

He would have to cancel the credit card with the issuer or they would still charge the card on file - legally. If he disputes the charge he would have no legitimate argument. Moral of the story is read the rules and watch your lots for mistakes.

You are probably correct, but I seriously doubt cbid will hold him to it.
I seem to remember this happening a few times before and they just cancelled the order.

Maybe just charge him MSRP? Let him pay $109.98 for his seconds. That would be a lesson.

AND, I think delta summarized the situation, possible options, and likely outcomes brilliantly in his post #3 above. Concise and insightful as usual.
