It might have gone from America's Past Time to what some quip Past It's Time.

The season is long, they messed with the rules (putting a runner on second base to start extra innings) doesn't sit well with me.

BUT....

Talking baseball gets me to thinking about Spring.

Dodgers won it, now they just added arguably the best Japanese player available and stole a reliever from the Padres. They appear unquestionable unbeatable.

Toss your baseball thoughts, predictions and general cheeers and jeers as you so fit.

Worst case- I'll just publicly talk to myself like I would if I were to start a soccer thread.

Go Red Sox.

I purdy much lost my interest in baseball after the 1994 strike. Of course I can’t say that I was a super fan or anything close to that but prior to the lost season, I would look at the boxscores for the Cardinals, on close to, a daily basis. The disgust for everyone involved has carried on. At this point in time, I’ll occasionally look at the game recaps and iffin’ the Cards are on the tube, catch a few innings but no longer have the patience or want to watch a full game.

And without getting into it, the rule changes and grotesque salaries are just adding more nails to that coffin.

we are the champions...we are the champions...no time for losers...cause we are the champions of the World...

repeat, threepeat... rinse and repeat....damn right I'm countin the chickens before they hatch...

karma, caused by the Astrocheats who stole a championship from the Boys in Blue a few years ago, has begun...it's like the Yankees in their heyday of the late 90's early oughts, buying up the best players and winning 4 outta 5...hope the Dodgers exceed that record...

L.A. has a solid Japanese-American baseball savvy community, with a vibrant J-town in the shadows of Dodger Stadium, and it has awakened...Dodgers have since the 90's signed good Japanese pitchers, including Nomo, Kuroda, Maeda and Darvish in effort to attract that population of fans...

then came Ohtani and the floodgates opened...went to Shohei bobblehead night at the stadium last season and was shocked that Asian fans outnumbered all others...they are great fans, not prone to vitriol, drunken behavior and threats of violence like other segments of the Dodger community that sometimes detracts from the ballpark experience...

They are loaded. It’s probably good for the league to have a team with a big fan base and a lot of money.
Their fans come out, and the rest of the country has the Big Blue Corporation to root against.

It could be much worse. It could be the Skankees.

After getting 4 titles in 14 years, after an 86 years drough, I am mostly content. No longer have the semi sleepless nights Yankees hating. Use to watch every Sox game, now I more or less check the standings twice a week and then pay attention when the playoffs start.
