I've been reading a lot of reviews of the CAO Pilon. It was received fairly well from what I can tell. The original 2015 release was for 5000 boxes or a total of 100,000 cigars. Obviously, I must assume they are long since sold and maybe all smoked already. Being as they are still being sold, they must have gone into regular production. I have to wonder what relevancy reviews of a nine-year-old release may have. If the cigar was meant to be a limited release, is it whimsical to think that the same tobaccos are still available when they go into regular production? Back during the boom, I read that the boom had caused shortages of aged tobacco, meaning smaller cigar manufacturers could not make a consistent flavor profile, while companies like General Cigar had long standing contracts and enough tobacco in storage to allow much more consistency from batch to batch and year to year. Secondly, I was wondering if the subsequent releases are possibly made only for the big online retailers.
