I wanted to buy Mrs MACS a Mazda CX5 when we moved here... new. She wanted a used RAV4 instead. Hers is a 2020 and she's only put 9k miles on it since we got it. It had 9100 on it, so... 2 years old, really low miles at the time. Now almost 5 years old and ain't even got 20k yet.

Got beef stew in the crock pot... should be done in an hour or so. Also gonna try my hand at yorkshire pudding, which I have never had. Found a recipe and made the batter... it's resting at room temp for now. Got muffin tins prepped with a tablespoon of beef tallow in each tin.

Preheat the oven/tins to 450, add the batter to the hot tallow and 10-12 mins later, should have my first taste to go with the beef stew.

Slicing Costco smoked boneless ham for pizza dinner. Costco ham is about the best I've had in years.

yes it is...I prefer it to the uber pricey Honeybaked...

speaking of dogs that kill...my daughter's smallish bullypit, Pepper, caught a mourning dove yesterday morning...all that was left was a pile of feathers...

we're looking at 3 days of heavy rain in SoCal...much needed...

My mother in-law used to make Yorkshire pudding every Xmas with drippings from the prime rib roast. That chit was highly addictive

Honestly, the CX 5 is pretty fun and until recently, probably the best handling car I've owned.

Back-in-the-day when I had my Road Runner, on a good week I’d get 11 mpg but that was only after I did the following:

Change oil and filter
Change air filter
Change plugs, points and condenser
Inflate my tires beyond the recommended manufacturers specs (…I had H78s in front and G60s in the back so no point in following Plymouth’s specs…)
Throw in some Mix-I-Go, an additive that was supposed to help increase gas mileage - I guess it worked!

Of course all of those expen$es was more than the money I “saved” by bettering my mpg. 🤦
