My law firm was deeply audited twice by IRS Agents came to my office. The first time they did not find anything wrong
Llast time their conclusion was they owed me $18. PIA!

OTH, yesterday, I called the IRS with a question. Much to my surprise, I was on hold for just 1minute!!!

Go figure?

Did they repay you the $18?

We got audited twice many years ago, the auditor explained if owed additional tax was $25 or less, we would not have to pay. I had to ask, ""If we owe $26 can I just give you a dollar?" Unamused, the auditor said, "No."

We passed both audits. The first because we deducted our rent, it was legal since I was a resident dam operator living on site for the pleasure of my employer.

The second audit was really an investigation of our CPA, we passed. Interestingly fact about our CPA Tony. My Mother was a teacher and Tony was popular among educators. His office was in Pasadena, CA, several miles from our home in South San Gabriel. At the same time, my eventually to be wife and her Mother lived in Pasadena and used Tony for many years before we ever met.

Always had good relations with the IRS, particularly when acting on behalf of companies. Never been audited, but did have one return amended by them which I did not challenge.
Macs - try calling the social security administration or the VA before you celebrate.
