Someone needs to chat with the shipping dept. at the monkey place... They put a tiny boveda inside each zip lock I order, and then tosss one loose into the box, too. Not sure what that last one is for...

Me too but think mebbe the 69 is a compromise between those who believe in 70/70 and those that prefer less. For me it’s no big deal to get a shipment with a 69% Boveda. I don’t smoke ROTT and since I freeze my cigars, let them acclimate for 3-ish months before I spark up a new one.

Agreed. I really don’t care about the fact that they use a 69 with regards to shipping.
I’m just a greedy bass turd, and I could make good use of the little 65s.
The 69s, not so much. Right now I have so many, that I’m experimenting with using them to recharge my larger 65s.
If that works, maybe I will find a use for those 69s.

Speaking of beads, when I made the switch from them to Bovedas, I got super lucky and found a GREAT deal on 320g 65% packs so bought a bunch for my coolers. Since each is designed to humidify about 100 cigars, I hadda use 3 in each cooler. But believe it or not, I haven’t had to recharge any of them in the 5+ years since I made the switch.

Here's another repurpose use for the 69% Bovedas - I've noticed that some of the more delicate wrappers, Cameroon and Connecticut to be specific, got too brittle when I kept them at 65%. A ways back, Z mentioned separating the Cameroons and Connecticuts into a separate container / humidor and using 69ers. I had noticed that those two wrappers were prone to cracking so I followed his suggestion. As always, Z's advice was spot-on and haven't had too many cracked wrappers since then.

With that being said, the only gripe I have is that the 4 to 10g packs don't hold their charge too long so hafta be monitored and recharged more often than I would like. Of course iffin' I wasn't such a cheapchit, I'd buy (...oh gawd!...) a couple of 60g packs or go big and get a 320g and call it a day. I won't, of course, free is mo' bettah than buying. To badly paraphrase Al Davis, "Keep it cheap baby!"
