This buying hiatus has shown me that I've got way too many cigars that I should smoke, instead of continually looking for the next best thing. I know I can survive until the hiatus is over. I've even given thought to extending it for awhile longer...or just buying cigars that I really like and which I've depleted my supply...decisions...

This is the boat I’ve decided to row in. Objectively I have enough cigars to last me until the day I finally decide to quit (…or when that decision is forced upon me…) so there really isn’t any reason to buy more, in terms of making sure I have enough inventory. The urge to get the next best thing has definitely subsided so an occasional purchase here and there to get a cigar that I really want is a good space to be in.

What I really came to realize is that as my inventory began to naturally age, I was, unknowingly, letting their peak pass by. Sure, I’d smoke one and think, “Hmm, seems to have lost some of the flavor / strength / body that I used to love.” Unfortunately I never thought to smoke them at a faster rate ‘cause I had too many other cigars in that same category. And while I am trying to smoke more of those cigars, I’m not smoking enough that are at their peak right now. To make matters worse, I still have a slew of gifted cigars sitting in my coolers so I need to whittle those down too. Gawd, what a conundrum!

So yah, I’mma gonna hafta stay in the “Smoke More, Buy Way Less” lane.
