hey guys smoked a punch monarcas today...i thought it was great...what do you guys think of this smoke?

Good, inexpensive, full-bodied smoke. For something a little more mellow try the punch gran cru line. A little more pricey but well worth it. Also try the Hoyo de Monterrey line as well as Excaliburs. Very similar to the punch line.

Punch is a quality cigar. Well made and like eze said, much like the HDMs. I find the maduro Rothchilds very tasty.

Haven't had a punch (other than isom punch) in a number of years. They went to hell for awhile during the boom. I'll have to give 'em another go 'round.

If my memory serves me, the domestic punch is a honduran, yes? if not, someone set me straight. thnx.

Hey hey! i didn't destroy ALL my brain cells after all! I'm not too partial to the Hondurans in general. Found them to be on the stronger side without much in the "complexity of flavor" dept. Most isom's are a bit too heavy for me as well. Love the mid-level stuff as far as strength goes. But that's not to say if I see a steal on some good Punch on the ol' CI bid page, i won't pick em up and give 'em another try!

never had a punch i didnt like. only had the maddies and oscuros. have some after dinners in x that are all sparkly and deeeeee-lish!
the rothchilds are excellent also.

Have had the Roth maddie. Good smoke. Are these (that) similar to Hdms? HdM Roth maddie are one of my absolute favorites. Damn, this is a great smoke.

If you in the mood for a treat try a Punch Elite MM. When humidified well, a fantastic smoke.

I'm glad someone likes them. I'll have to send them out to the football pool winners. Not my cup of tea so to speak. I might have to try some different Punch varieties but just didn't like the ones I bought.
