The place I work for managed to salvage a couple of Continental Print Shop employees that were out of work as a result of 9/11. They were very happy to only have been out of work for a couple of days.

Tough times, and I will grab one of the oars Slimboli is talking about! High tech/software in California has taken a dive since 9/11, although it was already softening before the atrocity!

Slim, AA. UA has a lot of changes to make if it is to survive. Good luck to UA and your brother, sincerely. We have cut a couple billion/yr out of our budget and have about that much to go. The industry has undergone some radical changes. Most of it related to the drastic changes in Silicon Valley and the business world in general. Some to 9/11. The guys in the catbird seat this year are Southwest and Jet Blue, smaller niche operators who have done some very smart things. If they continue to be smart they both have great futures.

I went to school for computers when the economy was booming and landed a very good job at a huge tech. company. By the time I graduated, I was laid off and had gotten no responses to hundreds of resumes sent out.

What finally got me a job was showing up in person to a company I applied to over the 'net. Now I have a job I very much enjoy. Everything happens for a reason and if you have faith and perseverance you will be alright.

I'm on my way!!! Spent the day catching up with some old friends that can lend a hand on the employment front and things are looking up. I'll keep you posted on my progress. Hell, maybe I'll be in a position someday to hire a few of those that need a hand.

I can't even begin to imagine what boat you're in...my hubby and I have always been entrepeneurs...but I definitely know the struggle when the money isn't coming it...Good luck guys!
