I went to the a large chain pharmacy and asked for P.G. they gave me the run around about special ordering and such. They seemed to want to help less after I told them what I was going to do with it. It would have been more socially exceptable for me so say I was going to use it in an enima. Well I won't say which pharmacy chain it is because it would not be RITE or AID them in there business. A small locally owned pharmacy had it for me the next morning. Remember Mom and Pops own allot of shops buy from them if you can.

Called Walgreens to see if I could purchase some 8 oz bottles for my PG solution. They said they had no way of charging me for the bottles, so they gave me a half dozen. I will continue to do bussines with this big company that acts like a mom and pop business.

yup, use it mixed 50/50 with distilled water in your humidfier. Generaly as an activator, so to speak, and then just add distilled water as needed for about the next year or so.
I haven't had any negative experiences using this type of approach. I did have a slight mold problem in 1 humidore a while back that was only using distilled water. I went to the PG solution in it also and no mold problems since.

Professor Cliffstein will be conducting an experiment shortly on propylene glycol purchased from a source other than a tobacconist. A fellow scientist here locally purchased a supply large enough to humidify the city and was then told by the local tobacconist that this pharmacy-bought PG was different and would give off a funky flavor. I've NEVER heard this claim, but we scientists will find out for ourselves. We're each subjecting a standard favorite to the confines of a humidor equipped with this funky substance then will smoke the specimen in 4 weeks. I'll report in with my findings!

Cliffie,

I've been using the PG from the pharmacy since at least spring and not one problem with it. As a matter of fact, I think I'd trust pharmacy "grade" PG before that of someone else's in regards to taste and what not.
