anybody here besides me have an RV? I have a 35' Jayco fifth wheel with triple slides. We like to go "camping" most weekends during Spring through early Winter. Anybody else?

I have '99 Ford PSD F250. Pulls it like a champ. Put a US Gear exhaust brake on it (just in case lol). Been all over most of the eastern part of the country. Where have you taken your rig? Happy new year to you too man

We have a 25ft. 1987 Fleetwood Class C E350. Has a bunk house set up...great for the kids.

We use it to haul horses to horse shows and stay, sometimes for a week or two.

We took it to Missouri when we first got it a few years ago. We never had an RV before..it was quite a learning experience. We learned the value of Good Sam roadside service and a well stocked credit card. But that was a heck of a shakedown cruise and our RV has been pretty much problem free since.

We are looking to upgrade to class A soon (or a big class C).

everybody's first RV is a learning experience. Are you familiar with the RV newsgroups? The offer a wealth of advice and info, as well as the typical newsgroup personalities 🙂

I've dove deeply into RV research. We have our RV outfitted quite well now. I read a number of books, searched websites and did a lot of homework before and after our first trip.
when I retire in 10-12 years...we will full time it.

we expect to full time also. have about 6 years left on my sentence first though

we had a 12' scoty in 1967 that we dragged to new york and back with the 2 kids, age 1 and age 3. no professional campgrounds then. we would stop at a gas station about 2:00am. toby and the kids slept in the scotty and i slept in the front seat. when the station opened and someone knocked on the window, i said fill er up.

back then a lot of farmers would post a sign, parking $1.00 including water and electricity. we would park in some field and plug in their extension cord and hook onto their garden hose.

met a lot of retired people that lived on the road. most had a 5 or 5 year old 1/2 ton pu and a utility trailor for their personal belongings. nice folks enjoying the country and living nicely on their pension or soc sec. mostly in thier early 60's and often they would bump into the same people at different locations. great adventures for them.

Remember time Rick is referring to, if you had trailer you were traveling in luxury. My parents and alot of others had truck campers. In there later years, RV and 5th wheel, very nice. How things have changed.
