Took a quick run down to Nuevo Progreso, Mexico today. Bought some more delightfully tacky, yet unrefined items for my patio which I call "Jaime's Cantina". A loudly colored ceramic toucan, a bigger Chimenea (only $40) and one of those statues of the guy with a sombrero taking a siesta. Slowly, the cantina is becoming the perfect place to smoke a cigar. I celebrated my acquisitions with a La Perla Habana Black Pearl Gran Belicoso. Ahhhh! Life is muy bien in South Texas!

I still have the paper maché Toucan I got in Mexicali in the 70's. He fell off a shelf in an eathquake and dimpled his beak a little.

X, I have some chili pepper Xmas lights that I keep up year round. I'm telling you, it's a veritable shrine to bad taste.

Why don't you take a picture and post it so we can all enjoy. I'd like someplace warm and cozy to think about while I'm smoking in my freezing cold garage.

Oh, yeah! Gonna cue "Cigar Music: Tobacco Songs From Old Havana" up with a log in the Chimenea tonight. Thanx again, Doc.

Progreso is a nice little border town. The wife got the ceramic? angels. They even have a nice selection of cigars at a drug store that taste like the real ones whether they are or not.
