I was wondering if anyone has created a template for use in creating your own tasting notes. I had thought of creating one in Excel but it was suggested to me that there may be a template that someone created that they would be willing to share. Any ideas? Thanks!

Man. That's too much work and research. I just smoke them. If I like a cigar, I put the band in my wallet. When I remember, I put the band in a little box of bands in my dresser drawer. That is my elaborate filing system.

I wish I could get that scientific. I have tried many, but have less than a dozen that I regularly smoke. I understand the concept, though. We do keep tasting notes with wines. You can create a "personal humidor" file on your computer and keep tasting notes in there, I suppose.

Rayder1 & Jazz.. I do the same. I have a card file that I keepp the bands in. I was gonna write notes on index cards but never did. Have 200+ different bands of types that I have tried and ya know, I can remember the ones I liked and disliked by looking at the lable.

Includes lunch at the Y on Friday.

Week IV Field Lab - The Alcohol Effect; The Monica Effect; Statistically likely outcome of loudly praising Castro in a South Miami Bar while jet-flaming a Cohiba Habano.

Wow that seems pretty complex. Then when you want a particular cigar do you have to do some search to find it in your database?

I have to admit that I use the Rayder filing system as well. Except I have one box for the Acid and Lars bands and one for regular cigars. I wouldn't want my bands to become contaminated after all.

Also, I keep my bands at around 60% humidity. That way they aren't to brittle.

My problem is that I like them all. Ya know, cigars to me are a lot like beer. There's a few that I really, really like. There's a few that I really, really hate. The vast majority falls somewhere in between. If my shirt pocket is empty and you offer me a Roi-Tan, I'll smoke it with you.
