You guys and gal are just to nice to us newbies,I went to work in the early 80's on a offshore oil rig in the gulf,You are not called a newbie you are called a worm,everyone else on the rig are weaing blue coveralls but you are wearing bright red so everyone knows to watchout for you as you dont know your ass from a flounder,They send you all over the rig looking for a sky hook,bucket of vicosity,tell you what your wife,girl friend are doing while you are stuck at sea for 2-4 weeks.but hang in their and take it like a man and soon you will be part of the crew and doing the same thing to a worm(newbie)so go ahead bombs away I cans takes it.:0

When I served in the Navy and got stationed with the Marines for the first time, I remember being introduced as a "newbie" and assigned a so called "sea daddy." It was this designated persons job over a period of 6 months to show the newbie the ropes and answer all his questions as well as the in and outs of his new command. As luck would have it, I was assigned to a old timer who gave me some of the best advice I ever got. Maybe some of the old timer here could take on a few newbies of their own. I'm sure pawning off dog rockets or donating some of his or her best stogies wouldn't be too much of an issue because through correspondence they would know about their particular newbies individual taste and what they have or haven't sampled. Just a suggestion, IMHO...
