I used to drive a semi across country and was delivering in California one day. While the truck was being unloaded I got out and lit up a cigarette. Now mind you this is outside. This man walks up to me and tells me that I cannot smoke there because I was invading his personal space. I smiled and put out my cigarette and walked to my truck and got in. I lit another one up and he walks to the truck and knocks on my door telling me that I still couldn't smoke. I smiled again and just said, "You are invading my personal space!" I rolled my window up and enjoyed my cigarette!!

I used to live in an apartment complex. I would smoke a cigar now and again in the garage which was in the basement. The person that lived above my garage always came down and complained that the smoke was stinking up her place.

Funny thing was that her mom smoked cigarettes when she came to visit. She smoked in her daughters apartment. Well, the smoke wafted upstairs to my friend's place which was above hers. But for some reason that was ok.
