Well, if the Democrats want to show any consistancy, this is their chance. I dont think they have it in them to do whats right.

Trent Lott was demonized by the Democrats. The Dems will never ask Moran to step down for what is much worse.

Trent Lott was misinterpreted. This is clear as to what it means. Now the true character of the Democratic party, will be seen by their actions.

If there was ANY dignity for the Congress, his constituents and for his own family, he'd resign. That being said, he's a Democrat. There is a double standard. Ask Newt and Trent. They needed to go too, but at least the Democrats were calling for the removal. I don't hear them saying ANYTHING!

They can say what they want, but once again the Democrats have shown that "their" party is one for exclusive members only, and rules don't apply!

First of all let me say first, I am not a democrat. Second, he should have to step down. But so should Trent Lott. Both parties have their Morons. Trent Lott lost his leadership post, but not his seat. I think they should both step down.

Barry I respect your opinion. What was said by Lott, that was raciest? I mean a quote. His remarks were worded in a way that could be misenterpreted. He tried to cheer up an old man(Thermon), and used the wrong words doing it.

Strom was the raciest. And that was in the past. You put Lott in with him because of a wrongly worded endorsement of something over 50 years ago.

I am a Libertarian, I am quite conservative in my views. It's just that the republican party has left me behind with their pandering to the religous right, and corporate payoffs payed back, by way of policy decisions.
I generally argue with the erosion of civil liberties, under this administration. But I think I have jacked this thread long enough. To get back to the topic at hand, I reiterate, They both should step down, as neither man is honorable.

This guy has done this more than one time, and not in a joking manner like Trent Lott, who I felt should have stepped down for his ill timed remarks.

So what is the difference? He is a Democrat and they can get away with this kind of thing, ask the old fool from West Virginia, Senator Byrd.
