My wife just brought up an interesting point. I was commenting to her that it was "unreal" watching people charging an armored convoy in a Chevy Corsica... And then being ripped to sheds by heavy machine gun fire. It was surreal to watch. Her comment was, "maybe they're showing too much of this footage. Too much graphic detail." She makes a good point. While I have watched it eagerly. I'm sure that there are those out there who are horrified by the footage. It's certainly unprecedented. Are we seeing too much coverage (detailed video journalism) of this war?

I have mixed feelings. With reporters in the field I have more confidence that we know what's really happening. When there's no reporters I'd always wonder if the official military briefings are disinformation.

I'm too cheap to buy cable to I'm stuck with the networks. I've certainly seen enough Ted Kopel to last me.

I feel for you efm... but you think your not getting dis information now? every article that has come out so far.. other then the Briefings from the top have been open ended as far as details...nothing has been factual... but as Robby stated watching the death live as it happens and knowing this isn't a movie but real life... is too much for people... and what about when by chance on tv someone see's one of there sons/daughters get popped? then what??? get them the hell out... Let our Troops get this Mission Completed and come on Home!!!!!!

Better too much than censored reports. I get a belly full, I know where the off button is. And I have used it. I am uncomfortable viewing someones grief up close.

Hog, I take you point about misinformation. A week ago the networks wanted us to believe that the war plan was in shambles. Thank God they were wrong.

I say they don't show ENOUGH! They should show the raw feeds. For all the peaceniks that think we're making up all this stuff, I'd say watch! The bullets ripping through a human head, the cadavers, the landmine destruction...I say show it! TV gives us some candy coated version that gives us just a taste, but not too much! After seeing the Vietnam marches in California as a kid, I remember the sounds, the screaming, the Police, but I didn't know what these confused people were so angry about! Let there be no mistake that I believe war to be a last ditch, a last resort. I don't think it's painless, and I don't relish it either. It's time to de-mystify TV. It's time America saw that it's not all Ward & June Cleaver or Will & Grace! Let there be no doubt about the ugliness that's going on in Iraq as I type this. Let America see the carbombing cowards pull up to our servicemen, let them see a maintenence clerk hold off a platoon of Republican Guard with an M-16 till she's out of ammo. After 24 hours of that kind of TV I'm sure any tree-hugging, save the whale t-shirt wearing, sign waving, yogurt eating peacenik will be screaming at the top of their lungs to NUKE them to Hell! If you're getting too much exposure or it makes you feel uncomfortable turn the TV off! It doesn't make the war or whats happening go away because you turn the channel!

It's a fine line between fact and fiction. TV loves to show the fiction.

Get the reporters out of there. Our guys have to tiptoe around & try to be "politically correct" every step of the way. Bullcrap! This is WAR not a freakin reality show.

Sometimes in war you must do things that wont be "nice". Our men dont need to be worrying about cameras taping their every move. The Iraqi's arent playing fair, we need our guys to feel they can use whatever force necessary to complete this mission. Even if it includes civilian casualties.

Its in my opinion a handicap having these guys around. Do they have to report on every civilian killed? This is the part that erks me! Its not intentional, but they act like it is, and report on it over & over again, like rubbing it in.

Rick, I know that there are websites that rip the vaneer up, but my beef is with TV. It's just an idiot box! Sports, Law and Order, some news,old reruns, and 24 is about all the use I have for TV.

Where's the progression? I hate when I'm hanging out at the local shop and we're having some good conversation and one of the participants stands up and announces, "Whoa! It's almost time for (fill in your own blank), I love that show...I never miss an episode!" Like it'll never be back on, or doesn't have a VCR!

I think that the people that run/own TV networks think the public is by and large a very dumb group that'll buy whatever they hype.
