You know what? I just realized, since GWB has been in office, the golf club where they hold masters has not allowed women to be members! I'm shocked that he could allow this to continue. Impossible to answer, not only as far as GWB is concerned, but also for Clinton, Bush the elder and to some extent, Reagan ... simply because not enough time has passed ... the perspective of history is needed in order to make a complete judgement ...

During their terms in office, Jefferson, Lincoln and Truman were each widely derided, but each is now quite highly regarded ... Kennedy, on the other hand, was probably more highly regarded immediately after his assassination than he is today ... again, the perspective of history has balanced things out ...

I'd be very highly interested to see what historical perspective does for GWB ... to say nothing of what it does for Slick Willie ... Rick, I just hope that each of us lives long enough that we can sit back with a cigar and reminisce about the Clinton and Bush administrations from that vantage point ...

McCain doesn't need to switch "officially", he's already there. He's one of the most liberal Republicans I've ever seen. I think a lot of people would say "Good Riddance" if the margin weren't so close, he would get a lot less attention. He plays that for all it's worth...
