I watched Al Gore getting a tour of Mt. Vernon (Home of George Washington in Virginia where I'm from). He was getting a private tour and the media was there covering it. He was VP at the time. He looked up at the mantel, and exclaimed, "who's that?" when looking at several busts. The curator said, Oh Mr. Vice President, that's George Washington, and that's Benjamin Franklin! UNBELIVEABLE! BUT TRUE!! NO SNOPES NEEDED!!

I agree Robby. I'm over this. My original point was to counter your view that Gore was "beaten" by Bush and "How low is that?" Now if it would've been a rout, you would've had a good point.

I think the country would've been better served if all of Florida was ordered a recount by the Supreme Court citing glaring polling flaws (no Robby, that's not a term relating to Male sexual disfunction). Then the country would've been more settled and secure no matter the outcome. Instead, the Conservative Supreme Court called B.S. and handed the office to George long before the counting was over.

Faced with the alternative, I was fine with George taking the office. But to dis Al by saying George kicked his ass or something is a bit of a stretch don't you think? There are plenty of other ways to dis Al.

I lived in Springfield VA (Just South of DC). It was covered by the local media there, I watched the coverage. It was quite a gaff! Like Quayle! He was a moron too. The difference here is, most republicans will agree that Quayle was/is a moron, and very few libs/dems will agree that Gore was/is a moron.

In fairness, he was touring through and just pointing at things, he may not have been paying much attention. But he had plenty of gaffes, like Quayle, just Al’s were less publicized than Dan’s PotatoE.

This was the Clinton/Gore ride to Washington. They were still "elect" at the time. I love the way Clinton bails outta the room and doesn't look back. He knew then what the rest of America had to wait until 2000 for!

Robby - If Gore is a moron, which I agree on, that doesn't say much for GWB, because Gore is definitely more inteligent than GWB. Nice try with the quayle comparison to take the heat off GWB though.

I just wish we could have a President that is well eduacted, well versed, experienced, middle of the road politically and just an all around good person. Unfortunately, it seems like too much to ask...

It's one thing not to like it. Nobody says you have to like it, but you simply said, "oh they're conservative so I don't believe it". I said I saw the coverage when it happened. Don't believe me?
