"Out of the Past" is one of my all time favorite films, and it is about the best of the Film Noir flicks.

Hard boiled action and great role by Jane Greer as the double crossing film fattale!

A few more I forgot to include:

They Might Be Giants--wonderful George C. Scott picture about a man with a mental breakdown who believes he' Sherlock Holmes.

The Innocents--shares with the 1963 version of The Haunting the distinction as the ultimate gothic horror picture. Both are genuinely creepy and demonstrate that black & white movies can scare the pants off of you. Deborah Kerr gives a phenomenal performance in The Innocents.

The Two Jakes--although largely overshadowed by its prequel, Chinatown, I love this movies intricate plots twists and turns and its depiction of post-war Los Angeles.

Gerbers' got some good ones. The guy that directed Requiem also did Pi, also somewhat disturbing. Jeunet and Caro who did Delicatessen followed with the amazing City of Lost Children (Jeunet directed some movies on his own, some great, some not so good). I usually groove anything by Ingmar Bergmann with Max von Sydow. One of my favorites is Bugsy Malone. It's a rather obscure musical gangster flick only with kids, pedal cars, and whipcream guns. Scott Baio, and Jody Foster (who never lists it in her credits) starred.

Robby I think you were talking about Conspiracy Theory. That was where Mel Gibson said that under the ice at Rockefeller Center was a frozen sperm storage - LOL.

Steve has seen Shakes the Clown. Oh my god that is a classic.

Sometimes if you want a truly great and obscure Western set in late 1940's watch "The HiLo Country" directed by Stephen Frears and produced by Martin Scorese, with Woodie Harrelsen in one of his best movie roles! You will not regret watching this one!

Chain Gang - Paul Muni, Scarecrow - Gene Hackman, Stuntman - Steve Rasilback, Panic In NeedlePark - Al Pachino, and the first "A" movie ever to use to use the word f**K --- Joe - starring Pete Boyle.

Ok if you watch this movie you willhave to agree with me. From Dusk till Dawn. I fought my way thru it (Quietin Terrantino directed and stared in, sorry about the spelling) BUT was rewarded with a scene that had Sylmay Heyake, (sorry about the spelling again)OO mY gosh THE best scene in any moveie anytime 🙂 If You watch it try and look at George Cloonys face during the scene. This took me many times at rewind and the play mode. makes me want a beer and gar just thinking about it. Rob

The Naked Lunch! That's it! With Peter Weller (Robo Cop). And I think Peter Lorie (SP) too? It's a weird movie with unseemly sexual overtones, giant roachs, and people snorting bug powder...

What's up Tiger Lilly. It's an Asian spy movie where they took and dubbed it with words that don't match the original and did it as a comedy. The movie is hilarious!

I thought The Rocketeer was very good. And Phobe Cates was to die for.

Yo efm: Phobe Cates ? I thought that was Jennifer Connerly (SP?) who was in Rocketman. JonR

Krull - Old fantasy movie. One of my favorites as a kid. Even cooler now because Liam Neeson is in it.

That and Clash of the Titans.

Yo efm: Your most definitely wrong it is Jennifer Connerly in the movie Rocketeer, just looked it up on the internet. Phoebe Cates is one hot mama but wasn't in the Rocketeer. JonR

Can't believe no one's mentioned this one. Voted the worst movie of all time. Ready:

PLAN 9 FROM OUTER SPACE

Unbelievably horrible plot, acting, script, special effects, etc. The movie starts nowhere, goes nowhere, and ends nowhere.
