As has been brought to light by some recent scathing comments, there are some good folks here and some who are viewed with less affection. What do you like about some of the folks here and why?

First let me say, I like RICKAMAVEN. I don't agree with him politically, but I enjoy his banter even though some find it aggravating.

A also enjoy Slim's vast body of expertise with respect to cigars. Mr. Billy Smith is always upbeat and generous to a fault.

I've enjoyed political discourse with Mr. JDrabansky, Mr. Whelmi, and a few others.

On the whole, a great group.

And who could leave out our first lady of cigars, E-Chick. Always outspoken and "provocative :-)"

I couldn't even HOPE to name all the guys I sincerely like a great deal in this forum ... there are just plain too many of 'em ... some of them haven't been around in a while and might be relatively unknown names to a lot of the guys that've become regulars in the past 6 months ...

Had a nice e-mail exchange yesterday with one of those guys ... Jazzman ... miss him a lot and wish we saw more of him ... some others who I just don't see much (if anything) from and miss a lot include Bullwinkle, CJBully, cliffie3d, Danno114, DaveyG2, emgjet, FBCoach, GetYourOwn, Hedgemonic, Hokiebama, Huskey, Intel, JJohnson, JReddoch, mhollowa, miamibum, Rknrmnd, Rookie139, Sammydaddy, Sgtcrossbones, THarris, Wouldestous, WSUCoug and wswmcj ...

Among others, I'm afraid that I could leave someone off my list and would feel horrible later, so I'm just not gonna name names ... but I'll say this ... some of the nicest guys in all the world are in this forum ... some of you, I've had the priviledge of meeting in person and sharing cigars with ... others, I still have that to look forward to ... and believe me, I DO look forward to it ...

GUV ... that illustrates my point ... how could I leave Guv off the list of guys I don't see stuff from and miss a lot ???

and, there's gonna be more ... I know it ... oh, I've embarrassed myself now ... I should never have let myself name even one name ... or should've taken a couple of days and tried to name them all ...

I hav'nt met anyone here I wouldnt enjoy herfing with. For some reason I am particularly fond of those I have spared with over the past year. USAHog, DrMaddVibe, Robby,Charlie,Magnifide, JonR, Sonny_LSU among others. Though I may not agree with you on much, I respect your beliefs and am glad that you won't hesitate to challange me on my views.

A salute to my friends on the right!

I'd have to agree with Steves. There are soo many great and wonderful people in the forum that I wouldn't dare begin to name names, for fear of forgetting someone. I love you guys.

While I might disagree with some on this board ( for what ever reason), I tend to treat this like I would a barber shop or my local cigar shop. Conversation is conversation. There will be disagreements, and even arguments, but WHINING? I don't have the time to listen to it. It's like fingernails on a chalkboard to me.

Definitely you all are top shelf; someone and something for everyone here. And RDC, you got it with the Shiner Bock--on draft if you can get it. My fav hands-down go to beer followed by Fat Tire. Specialty beers and microbrews/homebrews notwithstanding.

I've hooked up with a few of the folks here it's all been good.

I taking our resident "Mean" person fishing in the surf in the morning. We'll see just how "Mean" he is when I haul his a$$ out to the 3rd sand bar in a thunderstorm with a 3 foot surf and a tropical storm in the gulf. Oh, and there are plenty of black tip sharks too. LOL

Why...legend has it Mr. Mean used to hold on to the fins of black tip shark and take the fish out of their mouth when he was 'bout the size of mini-Mean!

Sounds like fun Barry!...I gotta go play with my fishin' stuff...

My 2 cents worth on this subject.. Ya know some months ago I made my 1st post in the form and I must say the responce was less than a pleasent one with the responces recieved. In fact after that post I asked my self what ever made me think that my question would recieve a reasonable answer from a Posting board. After all My years of using BB's I have found that a vast majority of them were nothing more than a place for all the Web Butt Heads to hang out. Well I took my own advice and cooled down a few days and did nothing but read the posts and the answers given and slowly it hit me I was a Newbie who just hit on a bad day..Since that time I have seen many Newbie's post the same questions I did and Now I sit and chuckle about it. Also I might add that since that 1st posting I have traded with and chated with some of the best bunch of people I have had the pleasure to meet in many years. The form is a place that even a "Not So Bright" question does get answered but also recieves it's share of ribbing and there always seems to be some one around to take the sting out of some of the more unforgiving responces that show up from time to time. Over all it is a very fun place to come and learn and chat and pass on some thing that you have learnt to other's. So to ask some one to single out one or a few good ones and or Bad ones is not some thing that can be done if you spend time here. We all have our up days and Down days and some of us just have days..LMAO
But as a whole this form is the best place I have found with the best group of people I have found and Yes I agree it is more of a family than any thing else , and I see that when some one comes in here and bad mouths this place or some one here and when some thing bad happens to some one from here. Every One steps in and does what ever they can.. So My truthful answer to the question would be Who Do I Like?--EVERY ONE...Why?--Because we are a family and as such we do forgive stupid questions Like "Cello on or Off"... Sorry I just had to use that One. LMAO.... And thats the rest of the story.... TinMan

I LOVE most...and the handful I don't, well I LOVE to HATE...that's it...it's all about LOVE...

I'd lite one up with any of the gang here (it may not be reciprocated, but I mean it) and I'd even give away my last cigar to one of you in need...that's just the way it IS around here...

Robby, thanks for including me...sorry I didn't list specifics...I'm sure we all have a handful or two of our own personal favs and close buddies...

I just don't get it. What's stupid about cello on or off. I still haven't gotten a straight answer to that one, although I have deduced from the responses, and personal experience, that when you light the cigar it is best if the cello is ALWAYS off.

Seriously, I am fairly new to posting on the board although I have been reading it for several months. I have made some real mistakes in my posts and am not so confident that I won't make more in the future. However, I have seen a great amount of tolerance for newbies and a real desire to educate/inform. So far I haven't encountered anyone cyberspace-wise (my only encounters thus far) that I wouldn't delight in meeting in person.

One more thing: My military career frequently takes me all over the country, and sometimes around the world. I travel with a laptop and where ever I am, if I can log on to the internet this place is like home to me, whether it be England, Italy, France, Egypt, Iceland, or anywhere else in the world. I love it!
