In good old California, we could buy beer wine or liquor 24/7 from local stores to the grocery store. I’ve lived or visited many places between her, South Carolina, and California, most of them had blue laws and or all sorts of goofy time date rules for alcohol sales.

I think about that when people whine about California.

The key word here Gene363, is 'could' ...

... not anymore ... at least not anywhere I've been in California, and I've lived here most of my life ...

I was pondering this...Robby, do you have any cigar stranded freinds that would "trade" a cigar or two for a six-pack or 5-6 fingers of whatever twirls your beeny?

Gotta be someone that would love to rummage through the rubbermaid in exchange for a couple of coldies...

If only ya lived closer...Who knows you might've stopped me from drinking that WHOLE 6 pack...by myself!

It was very hard to do, but I was willing to sacrifice myself, so nobody else here would have to go through the agony of opening and drinking all that beer, somebody's gotta do it.

2:00-6:00 AM are the no liquor sales, witching hours in the good ol' golden state. That's 20/7. Not like Vegas, but I feel pretty good listening to all of your sob stories.

Can't balance the budget, but at least we can buy booze relatively easily. Got our priorities straight!

i agree with you. i can understand oregan's law that you can only buy liquor in a state store, i don't know about beer. that way all the profits go to the state and is used hopefully for the good of all. also the control is better.

you have to watch out for those bible thumpers. one of these days they might get one of their own in the white house and all hell will break loose.

1800 square is a big house. the ones built here in the 50's were all 1001 square feet. you live in a mansion.

jews don't drink much alcohol. we tend to drink tea in a glass with a spoon in it and a sugar cube in our mouths. i'm reform so i drink amstel lite. i have been known to go through a 6 pack during the summer months.

vegas has some of the best libraries you will find anywhere. i think their schools rank right near the top. only the bagel stores close early. home depot is open all night. i can't think of a place that doesn't sell booze 24/7. so drink all you want, and you can read current books without waiting 3 months. and look how well they do for the school kids.

enough of me on this post or ai'll be responding to my own posts.
